I've been interesting in looking into Egyptian history and mythology lately and playing this game was part of riding that wave of interest. As others have said it's mostly a puzzle game which follows the history of Pre-Dynastic Egypt. Historical accuracy seems quote notable, they clearly put a lot of effort into that side of the game which I very much appreciate. A single playthrough doesn't take too long (mine was 4-5 hours) but you could replay to try and fare better. I'm not sure how much changes. It seems like it might be mostly pre-scripted (hence why its puzzle more than strategy) but then have a few random events mixed it. I technically failed my first and only run but it was literally one turn away from victory so I feel like I still saw basically the whole game and that's enough for me for the time being. I paid full price, wasn't even on a sale. But I enjoyed my time with it, however brief. A big part of that may have been because I've been riding that interest in Egypt I mentioned above, so if you are not interested in Egyptian stuff at the moment your mileage may vary. But if you do have that itch, this can help scratch it!

A good turn-based strategy in the setting of Ancient Egypt. The game is more like a puzzle than a strategy: the main events are the same, random events occur in the same moves, no AI opponents. Therefore, all the runs are very similar to each other, and the game does not offer much replayability after completion. However, nice graphics, historical accuracy and interesting gameplay will allow you to spend a few pleasant evenings. Plays well on Deck.

Simple and fun journey to the beginnings of Egypt More of a puzzle than strategy game, and often you'll just pray to RNG gods, especially on higher difficulties, which isn't really that bad after first few (dozens) tries The only actuall issue that I have is having to farm 1m traded resources while at most you can maybe get little below 2k a turn with a blessing if you spared all villages... so it was fun to reload the save with decent setup and just smash the next turn button (which for some reason have no shortcut like space or enter) 8.5/10 not enough Horus

This is some sort of "Civilization 3", but here we are building pre-dynastic Egypt from tribal times to the Old Kingdom. The authors wanted the game to be educational and historically acurate, thus it shows a lot of (mostly) interesting facts and development of Egypt is following historical path. And here comes the drawback - the game is not replayable. On the first playthrough we understand what is going on (and probably fail), the second time we follow the path again and win - that's it. Thus this game is very short, but still I recommend it to history lovers. For some reason the game was blinking all the time - maybe it is not very compatible with WIndows 10 or my hardware.
