This is a game that was released too early. The basic game loop is fun and satisfying, the brewing system is complex enough to get creative, the overall look of the game is very cute and the new custom game mode gives it some replayability. I had a great time building and managing my little potion shop. It seems like the development process of this game was really rocky and they had to release before it could get its final polish. Some really obvious bugs made it into the final release, not to speak of the messy and oftentimes buggy tutorial that doesn’t teach you about basic game functions.. there’s just no polish to it, everything technically works but it’s not quite right. Why can you only flip/rotate some objects? Why can staircases only be placed directly on top of each other? Why can rooms be resized vertically in one direction but not the other? Why is there only ONE looping background music track for the entire game? Why is there no feedback at all to taking out a loan? No sound, no pop up, nothing, there’s just somehow $500 more in you account. The game is overall good, but I fear that it will never receive these quality of life upgrades, only minor bug fixes, and that’s a shame.

TLDR Review: Current game is unplayable for me due to crashes, after fixing these bugs I'd give the game 7/10 worth the money. However, come back to it later once the bugs are fixed I bought the game yesterday and played it for a few hours and had a good time, the system for making/upgrading potions took a minute to work out but is quite satisfying to get right. However, after coming back to it today and trying to continue my game, the game goes "not responding" every 10 seconds or so which unfortunately has made the game unplayable . There are a few other annoying but not game breaking bugs that really should have been ironed out in early access (such as the filter while recruiting workers spamming the box making it hard to see anything).

I have played for six hours. The concept is neat, it was genuinely enjoyable until suddenly the items in half my rooms were un-selectable and I couldn't move them. Then the furniture I could move would cause the game to crash if I tried. Don't expect to actually get too far into the game in its current state. I didn't even reach the end of the "main" quest before the game became unplayable due to the bugs. If the developers ever manage to get the game to a playable state it'll be a neat little game that's worth the list price. But until then, I'm glad I got it on sale. I do plan on checking back and updating my review if I see some bug fixes have gone through. I do understand this game is early access, but even in the Why Early Access? section below it says it's supposed to be long lasting. --- Update: The development team seems to be working diligently to fix the outstanding issues people have been coming across. I'm confident in their determination and ability to fix the bugs, and I hope the solutions come speedily for them

Takes a bit of getting used to, but it's interesting once you learn the rules. Top tips: If you can't afford it - even at the start, don't buy it, wait until you have enough funds to comfortably buy items and only buy the bare minimum. Do not buy herbs or artefacts - wait for them to be rewards from VIPs Research early! Do not upgrade staff until you need to. So, using the example of a veteran alchemist to research new products, don't upgrade to veteran when this research is unlocked - wait until you have 100+ points to spent. Anything that can make production easier - like water tanks - is a good investment. Focus on one discipline for the first 50+ days. So, perhaps provisions., for example. It's not a race, around day 100+ you can probably add more workers, more machines, another floor for sorcery, later do the same again for health. As long as your money is going up month by month, you are winning :) Keep your workers happy!
