Comfortable play experience. Several hours can be spent in the map builder to create unique battle maps and game modes.

As a comp player from this game i can say this game is good on the right circumstances. The thing about this game is the concept is good, but the updates and the devs are TERRIBLE. Devs neglect the game and produce rare but disappointing updates. There are 2 game modes that are basically the same thing. No solos ruins this game terribly.

I certainly enjoy playing this game, but I recommend playing it with friends. My experience with random groups has not been great, apart from a few rare exceptions. That’s why I stopped playing with random people and now only play with a group of friends. If you have a Meta headset and don’t mind using the Meta ecosystem, the game can be played for free there. However, keep in mind that if you switch to a different headset and want to continue with your account on Steam, that’s not possible. That’s why I bought the game here, even though I own a Quest 3.

basically vr fortnite (except it may as well be no-build because ive never seen anyone actually use the build controls outside the tutorial, and they are the one part of the game that dont feel natural) i have more playtime on a friend's quest 2, but i bought the game on steam because i bought a second-hand htc vive pro. the game definitely feels like it was designed for a quest 2 (e.g. the instructions for how to bring up the map show a quest 2 controller (you need to hold down the back trigger of the left controller on the vive pro), and the tutorial just highlights the entire right touchpad for reload early etc without providing indication of where to click, and the game suggests double-clicking a nonexistent left stick to sprint) but it plays ok on my htc vive pro (the right touchpad is dividied up into multiple regions that both provide for snap rotation and functions such as pings and early reloads, with no indication on where to press for the ping and quick reload functionality, other than just trying until you get it). despite movement not being teleport-based, you dont get motion sick unless you play for a while with the viginette turned down, and i personally find that i am so tunnel-visioned when walking around that the viginette never feels intrusive (on the vive pro you click and hold down on the left touchpad and drag around as if it was an oversized thumbstick). only other issue ive noticed so far is that upon closing the game it appears that its event loop spinlocks instead of terminating (you have to force-stop it from steam). also if you have a meta quest headset, this game is free on the meta store or whatever its called, so get it there instead of here (i didnt get a meta quest headset because i want something that has a higher chance of working on linux and a lower chance of selling my entire life story to advertisers). this does also mean that there are quest kids, so use the voice chat to remind them of how to distinguish friend from foe when they inevitably shoot at you. tldr: recommended unless you have a meta quest headset, in which case you should get the game for free from metas store instead of paying for it on steam oh also one final funny story: while playing on my vive pro i stood in a spot where the tracking failed (one of my lighthouses is below head level at the moment, so i can sometimes block their line-of-sight) and walked off the starting area before i could get the tracking back. survived it and won the game (the collision mesh out behind the mountains at the edge of the map is rather inaccurate and you might walk on air for a bit, but you can just walk over them). remember that it is easier to aim when you are closer to your enemy, and the big sword is good for rapidly eliminating people who walk directly into you from around a corner. also gamers dont look up, and you can climb literally anything on the map and then glide around - use this information as you wish.

Warning to folks considering purchasing on steam versus the free to play option on Meta Quest. Despite having to pay for the steam version, you still have to purchase in-game currency to unlock all access. Without unlocking all access, your progression in the game is limited to level 10. In other words, the unlock for all access applies to all version of the game -- not just the free to play.
