Pode, developed by Henchman & Goon, is a charming puzzle-adventure game that celebrates the beauty of friendship and teamwork. With its stunning art style, relaxing gameplay, and heartfelt narrative, it’s an experience that resonates deeply with players of all ages. The story follows two unlikely companions: Glo, a fallen star searching for a way back to the sky, and Bulder, a kind-hearted rock who offers to help. Together, they embark on a journey to ascend a mystical mountain, uncovering ancient secrets and breathing life into its dormant landscapes. Their silent but expressive interactions convey a sense of warmth and connection, making their bond the emotional core of the game. At its heart, Pode is a cooperative puzzle game. Each character has unique abilities that must be combined to navigate the environment and solve puzzles. Glo can illuminate the world, growing plants and revealing hidden paths, while Bulder can move heavy objects and interact with the earth. The puzzles are clever and encourage creative thinking, with solutions that often rely on precise coordination between the two characters. The game truly shines in its cooperative mode, where two players can control Glo and Bulder independently. Working together to overcome challenges strengthens the theme of friendship and makes for a memorable shared experience. That said, Pode can also be played solo, with players switching between characters, a testament to its accessible and inclusive design. Visually, Pode is a feast for the eyes. Its art style draws inspiration from Norwegian folklore, creating a magical world filled with glowing runes, vibrant flora, and intricate stonework. The environments evolve as you progress, bursting into life with Glo’s light and Bulder’s touch, making exploration feel rewarding and magical. The music, composed by Austin Wintory, is another standout feature. The score is whimsical and atmospheric, perfectly capturing the sense of wonder and discovery that defines the game. It complements the visuals beautifully, adding emotional depth to every moment. While Pode is a delightful experience, its pacing can feel slow at times, especially for players used to more action-oriented games. Some puzzles, while inventive, may require trial and error, which could test the patience of younger or less experienced players. Despite these minor shortcomings, Pode is a game that radiates warmth and charm. It’s a reminder of the power of cooperation, not just as a gameplay mechanic but as a message about the importance of helping one another. Whether you’re playing with a friend, a loved one, or on your own, Pode is an enchanting adventure that leaves a lasting impression. It’s a game that invites you to slow down, enjoy the journey, and appreciate the beauty of a shared goal. Step into the light with Glo and Bulder, and prepare to be captivated by this heartwarming tale of friendship.

The best couch co-op game I have ever played ! Characters are so lovable ! We had lots of fun playing it with my wife. There is no time pressure, you have to discover what to do next and you do it at your own rhythm in a beautiful setting. We loved growing all plants and rocks everywhere even if it did not serve an end other than discovering how they grow. I hope the developers make more games like this or even a second Pode game. Finaly a game were we have fun collaborating and are not frustrated by the game mechanics. What could be improved: not much honestly, but we would have liked at the end to be able to select the chapter to go back to to find all the hidden features and know where we missed some.

Played this game with my girlfriend and had a blast! Mechanics are solid and fun to use, and the puzzles (almost) never too difficult/frustrating. Quick and fun game that I'd highly recommend to play with a friend/SO! hi it's the girlfriend :) i liked this game because it was sooo cute and easy. sometimes the perspective was a bit weird/off but it wasn't too difficult to manage. as someone who doesnt play platform and instead prefers cozy light puzzle games, i had a lot of fun. i liked when i activated bridges and he got on the bridge and i deactivated it :P

Probably one of the best co-op games ever made for couples. It is playable in single player but definitely more enjoyable in co-op. The only fault with the game is the lack of support for the switch pro controller and the lack of key rebind options. This forced me to play with the incredibly awkward default keyboard controls while my partner used the only xbox controller we had.

Fantastic game! Great for couples. How I played: I hosted remote play with my ldr fiancee. It worked fine 99% of the time. Every once in awhile, we would have trouble connecting her controller, but I haven't done remote play much, so it's very possible it was some other problem. My Opinions: - The puzzles were very cooperative and not too stressful. - The ambience was calm and relaxing. - The aesthetic was gorgeous! - The map kinda "grows" as you move around it and it was satisfying to do so. Like popping bubble wrap. - The characters are cute. - I felt immersed, I was invested in the characters. - The game didn't feel too short. The ending was satisfying. - No complaints Overall, the game was superb, I enjoyed every second of it. 10/10
