Get that pizza ready! A fun little management cooking game that's perfect for a few “relaxing” rounds with your friends. Gameplay Essentially, you play as a chef who takes customers' orders and then prepares their meals in the kitchen, following a series of different steps. So far, we've only tried four different dishes: pizza, steak, salads, and coffee. All of them were pretty easy to understand and prepare, and serving them felt genuinely satisfying. The longer you keep your restaurant running, the more stars you earn, which unlocks additional upgrades for your restaurant. You can get a better stove, more counter space, or more plates for your waitstaff, for example. We did about five runs in total, and with each run, we managed to last a little longer. I really enjoyed seeing how every run unlocked new recipes, items, and layouts that made the game and future runs a little easier. What I didn't like We played it as a two-player game, and honestly, I thought it was going to be a cozy little cooking game. Nope. Not even close. As soon as a ONE customer doesn't get the order or has to wait too long, you lose the game. Eventually, we reached a point where it felt practically impossible for the two of us to keep up. The doors? An absolute nightmare. We ended up having to install mods just to stop them from constantly getting in the way. And playing with keyboard controls was absolute hell. More than once, I somehow ended up putting tomatoes in the wrong salad. Playing with a controller was much easier, although the game never actually tells you that. I was also really annoyed by the upgrade letters that appear right in the middle of the screen and just stay there. They completely block your view and can be incredibly distracting. Just a terrible design decision. Final words Despite the issues I had with it, I still had a good time playing the game. I picked it up on sale, and I'd say it was definitely worth the money. Having worked in kitchens before, this is the best game I've found that simulates kitchen teamwork. If you've played the popular game "Overcooked" and thought "I wish the kitchens weren't so wacky, unrealistic, and unreliable, so we could actually maintain a system within the team", then this game is for you. Players can actually assume meaningful roles within the kitchen/dining room if they want, and it works well. There's just enough change after every level to keep a session fun/refreshing. This game can get difficult, which is a plus. I play it occasionally with friends, and it seems like nearly every time we play, there's a new update that adds content.
As a solo player with no friends, it's definitely on a challenging side trying to level up just to unlock areas and recipes If you don't mind the grind and the challenge of doing everything solo (and have a love for Overcooked), this game might be for u. I wont deny I have a lot of moments where I wish I could play with someone, especially when u try to reach day 15, but rest assured if u are that stubborn, then youll enjoy this game and it is possible to reach to past day 15 as a solo player
