A lot of people call this Abandonware but that's only partially the situation. In a sad turn of events, some sort of technical, social or legal disaster left Pathea missing the source code for the multiplayer server of the game. What they did have, which is now free, was the single-player software, but without the source code there's no way to make improvements, changes or add features without creating the game again from the ground up. They didn't do this, and it's not hard to imagine why. The game is what it is. It had potential to be something a million times more but was cut short. I paid money for this game and will always have a soft spot for it, but really wish they'd invested some of that money in a backup system. You can get it for free and at least get a glimpse of what we all had a chance of having. Maybe Planet Explorers 2 will come out and have a better chance of seeing completion.

I am still sad they abandoned this game. It had so much potential and was a ton of fun! i truly hope they come back and finish it. to this day, it had the most unique crafting system ive ever seen in any game and it was probably ahead of its time. Please come back, this game had such good bones and even more potential!!!

Possibly the most underrated sandbox game in existence. No not nearly perfect, yes its dated, and yes the story probably has some bugs. But the creation system in the game is complex and amazing and there are few like it.

I quite like this game, Honestly I have known it was not going to be "finished" for several years but even still I have had a lot of fun with it, Sure now its free and I bought the game when it first showed up on steam but really I got what I payed for. It was disappointing when they scrapped some stuff, but it still has a lot to do in it. Overall I would encourage people to try it, especially now that its free to play

WIth 60 hours I gotta say I sorta had a good time, im not too hard to please, and the amount of freedom with building and even changing the landscape was really nice for it's time. but realistically they PROBABLY never fixed the part where that scientist FUCKING dissapears after you drop her off at this 1 place, and later you have to talk to her to continue the main story line... but you can't because she fell off the fekking planet and at like what is probably the 60% mark of the full main story campaign too, RIGHT when it's getting good after you've found the Mars people were getting somewhere with their town but they were starving or something, elitist jerks. It would be lovely if modders fixed that, in fact imma go look *some time later* SO I have found no where that they fixed that after you leave her there and after you talk to antaro, agnes copperfield will be AT the base... which makes the storyline for the main campaign UNPLAYABLE IF IT WASN'T UNLESS THEY DID AND JUST DIDN'T SAY SO ... so, 6/10: 1 point because I "CAN" play it, 2 points because you can seriously affect the environment as you please, is actually pretty cool, 1 point because the gadgets seem cool and the crafting seems solid, 2 points because the vehicle construction is a bit much to figure out but overall customization for that and the buildings is cool too, -4 because the end is UNreachable as far as I know because im not gonna spend 10+ hours to find out for the review. I'll reccommend trying it just because it's free now and for what i experienced having payed for it, I DID have a good time.
