Pixel Piracy is a fantastic concept. Not only do you build a crew and ship, but you also continuously hone your skills, venturing deeper and deeper into the open sea. While the game has a learning curve, it's well worth the time if you're a fan of adventure and pirate-themed games. My only critique is that the gameplay can become repetitive in the late stages, but this won't happen until much later in your journey. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique pirate sea adventure.

This game is pretty old as far as standards go at this point. Originally there were 2 devs for this game, one was caught selling stolen keys, drama ensued, it was abandoned and unfinished at some point in 2016 with a dev that many described as toxic. Fast forward to 2023, Vitali Kirpu has sorted out the legal issues, taken sole development of the game, and rolled out a dozen patches - officially bringing the game to the best place its ever been. I think the game still feels a little unfinished around the edges - all neutral battles will be fishermen, they never seem to get stronger, that sort of thing - but its 14.99 for a game that is super chill, really easy to spend a couple hours messing around in. I think the ship building system is super fun and fairly unique. The game is surprisingly challenging, even on normal. Overall, if you want to waste some time being a pirate and support a dev who has honestly come a tremendously long way, this game is it. Is it perfect - no, probably far from it - but it can still be fun.

This is a fun silly little game that I always come back to just for fun. I get quite obsessed with it for several hours to days then tend to forget it exists for years. But, I ALWAYS come back to it haha.

Pixel Piracy is a game that is, admittedly, hard to get into at first. When you start, you must learn almost fully on your own exactly what to do and how to do it. However, as time goes on and as you learn more mechanics of the game it becomes increasingly more enjoyable. You begin to build and flesh out your crew and you begin to care for their well-beings as you wage war against the other inhabitants of the sea. If you enjoy games that allow you to build and maintain an army, then this is the game for you! Just be patient with it in the beginning.

idk about the drama surrounding this, but the game is fun. You build a ship and sail around with your crew which you level up and equip with stuff.
