I’ve spent a thousand hours in this game, and I have a lot to say about it. I’ve unlocked every achievement, all available cards and prestiges (except for those that can only be awarded by the developers). The game is incredibly engaging - I really enjoyed the prestige system and the rewards in the form of animated and non-animated cards. In my collection, I’ve gathered 20 basic and 20 special cards. At some point you stop feeling like a ghost hunter and start feeling more like a collector of rare Pokémon 😁. If you enjoy leveling up and earning rewards, this game will definitely be for you. Pros: ✅ Long and engaging progression - the game features a level system with prestiges, the maximum being 20. I reached this level over 600+ hours, playing on very high difficulty levels, fully mastering the mechanics and earning all possible rewards. This highlights how the game motivates you to keep coming back and gradually explore all its content; ✅ Engaging gameplay that is fun to explore and learn the mechanics; ✅ Variety of difficulty modes: in early games, it can be tricky to get the hang of the mechanics, but it becomes easier with experience; ✅ Can be played both solo and with friends; ✅ Frequent updates, with promises of new maps and expansions. The especially unpleasant part is the game lobby with real people - that’s a story of its own. You’ll often run into insults, provocations, foul language, and baseless accusations. Sometimes it’s kids, sometimes adults - all without the slightest clue who I am or how I play. It’s tough, and sometimes it feels like the real demons aren’t on the map but in the voice chat. It would be great if the developers added an option to kick toxic players not only in the lobby but also during the game. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a pro. This isn’t even a flaw of the game; it’s more a reflection of modern society, where many unfortunately lack morality, respect, and culture. Cons: ❌ Bugs: sometimes when you mute one player (if they deserve it), it also affects other teammates, and they can’t hear me for the entire game; ❌ Random/Unexpected voice issues: sometimes when entering the lobby or starting a game, either I can’t hear others, or others can’t hear me, even if no one was muted. Occasionally, voice chat stops working for everyone. Despite these issues, the game delivers a tense and immersive horror experience that keeps you on edge. So if you love horror games with jump scares, as well as games with leveling and rewards, Phasmophobia is definitely for you. It combines a chilling atmosphere with a sense of progress, so playing is both fun and scary at the same time. Just be ready that in the game lobby, someone might insult you out of nowhere. Sanity pills recommended 😁
What the ACTUAL hell did you do to this game? Phasmophobia used to be one of the best multiplayer games ever made. Not because it was super terrifying, but because it was chaotic, hilarious, and ridiculously fun with friends. Even the bugs somehow became part of the charm. I genuinely LOVED this game. But this update? You completely ruined it. Instead of fixing the bugs everyone has complained about forever, you somehow added MORE bugs, changed things nobody wanted changed, and turned the character models into TEMU versions of the originals. The game lost its identity overnight. Nobody asked for this. WHO looked at Phasmophobia and thought: “Yeah let’s rework everything people already love about the game and make it worse.” Now everything feels clunky and awkward. The atmosphere feels off, the characters look ridiculous, and the whole game somehow feels cheaper than before. This genuinely feels like one of those updates that kills a game people loved. Please remove this update or roll it back before Phasmophobia becomes a “remember when this game used to be fun?” conversation. Do I recommend the game? Yes but only if you want pure disappointment when you load in from now on. It use to be amazing, now it’s cheap and horrible EDIT: Despite everyone telling me to change this review to a thumbs down, I am leaving this as a thumbs up because I know what this game is like without the HORRIBLE update. It was my favourite game!!! So YES I do reccomend it, but only the older version of the game we all knew and loved. Ya'll get so angry over someones personal opinion and review on a game... I have never laughed so hard at how offended people got over this!! But as a whole; this is an amazing game BUT this update is TERRIBLE and they need to fix this ASAP. Does this change all of the amazing moments I've had on this game? NO! So yes I reccomend this game, but oh my gosh do they need to fix their mistakes from this update or just remove it as a whole
At first this game feels like pure horror, dark rooms, creepy sounds and ghosts hunting you down. But once you learn how each ghost behaves it turns into more of a survival game with purpose. You're not just scared anymore. You're investigating, testing, and figuring out what kind of ghost you're dealing with.
