very fun, decently optimized, smooth gameplay, and an amazing soundtrack, the gameplay is like a mix between vermintide and greek mythology with their own creative spin on it, very very fun. highly recommend if you like those previous 2 things. also a fun way of upgrading gear and whatnot

This is run-die-upgrade-repeat kind of game. During each run you collect temporary upgrade cards valid for this run only. Between maps you can decide to abandon run, cash out and visit store. Or risk pushing further, but if you die run reward will be greatly reduced. Each map has random objective, so that runs don't get too repetitive. At some point you will be strong enough to reach and defeat final boss. If you watched YT reviews you probably know that authors made few questionable decisions. One map - one chosen weapon. Or spawn system that constantly spawns enemies around you. But when you catch the vibe and figure out mechanics it is quite fun destruction set in very characteristic level design style resembling ancient Egypt (with guns :P). For indie game it's a bit overpriced. Gameplay formula is not as polished and balanced as in AAA titles. But if it's on sale and you are looking for fast paced shooter - give it a try.

Great game, very buggy. Sometimes We can't click the priest and we have to start over.

Despite questionable design choices, PERISH still managed to win me and my friend over with its immersive, atmospheric dark fantasy setting and plenty of weapons and various items to play around with. We bought the game after getting hooked on first-person roguelike shooters with Roboquest. It takes time getting used to PERISH because it's so different. You can't sprint, instead you make directional dashes. There's no usual health bar, instead the damage you take is based on hits rather than damage numbers. In the beginning you can only take 3 hits before dying. There's no usual revive teammate function, instead the surviving player has to win the level for the dead player to come back in the next level. The balancing of the main campaign is all over the place. For example the hardest level for us (The Forges of Hephaestus) is somewhere in the middle of the campaign and everything after that is a breeze even on the highest difficulty. The enemy spawn rate in that level is OUT OF CONTROL. So yeah, we were puzzled by many things in the game but we are of the forgiving kind and in the end we got many hours of fun out of PERISH. We completed everything except getting the true ending for the main campaign which can be done by only using the very phallic sounding starting weapon Ponos and is almost impossible to accomplish. PERISH could be more accessible and I can only suggest to the developers to learn a thing or two from Roboquest. No shame in borrowing what works from others and in return get more attention and players.

I like the game. The art direction is outstanding and the mechanics are fun. HOWEVER...the game needs better feedback, it's hard to tell when you get hit and where it came from. It's also really annoying to have enemies spawn right on top of or next to you. Perish is close to greatness but it's not there yet.
