It's great. The game is quite dead tho, it's hard finding people to play. I want to make this clear, once you start finding matches and adding people to your friend list it is really easy to start matches, the community is nice and close, they ALWAYS accept your invitations.

For me it's the best PAYDAY game that has ever been made. I enjoy this one way more than PAYDAY 2, and PAYDAY 3 is just a big NO for me. I totally recommend this game to anyone.

Despite playing the sequel and then the third game first, this is by far the definitive Payday experience for me. The heists are spectacular and feel very different in tone and gameplay compared to the rest. In this game you feel as though your actually completing a hard but fun heist, whereas in the others it's a lot of chaos and power fantasy shenanigans with some heists in the other games appearing more as a after thought. Even the ui and hud for example looks much cooler and unique. The weapons are great with them being more distinct and feeling more rewarding to use as they level up and change in their performance and look, they also just feel great to use with them having some amazing sound design. Speaking of which the music for this game is as you can expect from the Payday series absolutely amazing to listen too. But at least for this game the music not only sticks better with the theme of the game but never gets tiring to listen to. As these heists can take quite a long time but the music always manages to slap and help build up to the tension and feel of each and every heist. Now onto the special units, which actually feel special and a challenge. Even normal cops and bank guards actually feel memorable rather than just boring cannon fodder all the time. The skill tree system is very rewarding and the dialogue and interactions between each heister are very engaging and immersive to the experience Payday The Heist offers. Meaning that which ever heister you pick actually makes you feel like you picked a different and fun character to play as, since the masks you wear in this game tie to which heister your playing as except for a few exceptions. Oh right speaking of which how could I forget about one of the best inclusions of this series, the masks. Now the masks of this game actually fit the vibe the game is going with and they look fantastic, plus they feel rewarding to get some of them as playing through more of the game and it's difficulties will reward you with for instance the golden and ex presidents masks which are incredible and fulfilling to get, with the added touch of them being displayed on your hud being the icing on the cake. My only problem is that I wish there was more content as there is more care and passion in this game. But sadly the sequel was made very shortly after and I wish people would acknowledge and play the original game more. Overall if you find this game I think it's worth a shot especially if it's on sale, so that you can get your Payday too.

One of the most Enjoyable games i have played of late, unexpected gem Payday: The Heist** is a cooperative first-person shooter that puts players in the shoes of professional criminals pulling off a variety of high-stakes heists. Developed by Overkill Software, it offers fast-paced, intense gameplay with a focus on teamwork and strategy. Here’s a short breakdown of its key aspects: **Gameplay** -------------------- - **Heist Missions:** The game revolves around six unique heists, ranging from bank robberies to prison breakouts. Each mission feels distinct, with objectives that can change based on how the players perform. - **Co-op Multiplayer:** Payday is best enjoyed with friends, as teamwork is essential for managing hostages, cracking safes, and fighting off waves of police forces. Solo players are supported by AI teammates, but they lack the strategic depth and coordination of human partners. - **Dynamic Events:** No heist plays out exactly the same way twice. The game features random events like security camera placements, police attack points, and the behavior of NPCs, adding a layer of unpredictability. - **Combat and Shooting Mechanics:** The gunplay is solid, though not as polished as more modern shooters. However, the variety of weapons and gadgets keeps the combat engaging. - **Progression:** Players earn money and experience points to unlock better weapons, equipment, and skills, adding a satisfying progression loop to the game. **Pros:** ------------ - Intense and engaging heist scenarios. - Strong emphasis on teamwork and coordination. - Dynamic mission structure keeps gameplay fresh. **Cons:** ---------------- - AI teammates can feel lackluster compared to playing with real players. - Limited mission variety (only six heists at launch). **Verdict:** --------------------------- *Payday: The Heist* is a fun, adrenaline-pumping game that shines when played with a group. While it has some dated mechanics and limited mission selection, its cooperative design and dynamic scenarios make it a thrilling experience for fans of team-based shooters. https://youtu.be/pqAFtDMj7l8
