Patch Quest

In a labyrinth surrounded by vicious monsters, Explorers must rely on their Lasso to survive! Capture and tame ANY monster to leap, glide, surf, tunnel and websling through a treacherous, patchwork maze. This roguelike/metroidvania seems cute, but it’s a deceptively difficult bullet-hell challenge!

Incredible game, world building and mechanics. Often doing runs just trying to survive till you can open up that shortcut so next run you can make it to the boss in better condition. Picking up skills or planting pins that will give me the buff I need to get far in that run. I ended up uncovering all of the map and had a really good time doing so. Now Ive missed a few things and by looking at the map Id not know where to even start so I am not going to bother but this was a lot of fun.

What a cute little game! Patch Quest is a game just brimming with personality. It combines a roguelite metroidvania with a dash of Pokemon where you explore the mysterious land of patches. It plays mostly like a twin-stick bullet hell shooter but there is some in-run progression to achieve. By and by you unlock different modes of metaprogression like your own little menagerie of weird critters. A frog mixed with a camel? A warthog made of leaves? A triceratops made of jello? It's quirky in an endearing way. I found some of my little friends more useful than others but I believe this will ultimately come down to playstyles. It's important to note that the rogue part of this roguelite game is really just focused on the game getting procedurally harder the longer you stay on any given expedition but the layout of the map does not change in itself. The perks you can acquire like lower cooldown for your mounts' abilities or you fully charged gun's shots homing in on enemies are another randomizing factor. The game was a joy to play. While you not only collect a zoo of cool critters but also the patches that make up the land itself and restick them to gain certain bonuses, you can craft the land into something of your own. Trouble on the way to a boss? Place some stickers with your favourite perks on the way to guarantee that you're fully equipped for the fight! This is a neat mechanic that works really well. Overall I would heavily recommend Patch Quest to almost anybody. I didn't feel like it was massively challenging but rather found it to be pretty accessible as I usually don't quite cut the mustard when it comes to bullet hell (looking at you, Star of Providence). So give this a whirl!

Its good enough but not challenge. Imo, I'd give it 6/10. Good: 1) There's many monsters with good visual. If you like pokemon, monster hunter and monster in general, you would likely like this. 2) There's a bit feel of exploring the map since its permanent. 3) Interesting mechanic to catch monster. 4) Havest plans and stuff give you busy hours Bad: 1) Most of monsters will have repeative moveset, even though they have different visual and live in different biomes. 2) Same for plants, different visual, different biomes but sometime they will have same effect 3) Once your riding monster has max level, you feel unnecessary to fight other monster since you gain nothing from them. Actually you can kill a shining monster to collect ability powerup, but its rare. So overall, once your monster lv 4 (unlock 4 skills) you no need to fight and just fight a way to next big boss 4) There's different feature but I feel the dev has no time to finish them perfectly. Like you can catch and return the monster as a pet at home base. But that is all, you gain nothing from them. Same for plant, except bullet type. At the end, with this price and content, I would say its average and worth to play as casual game

Underrated masterpiece. When I first played this, all the forgotten childhood memories of playing Pokémon Ranger flooded my mind, and WOW was it great. Complete the encyclopedia, discover new animals and areas, and get every pet and sticker you can. It has the formula of a roguelite, but as you advance, you can get progressively further on the map because of shortcuts, so it doesn’t get tiring at any moment. Also, I love the bullet hell gameplay and the diversity that each mount and weapon gives you. And after completing the game, I discovered that it was made by one single person and that the game development had been uploaded on YouTube. Binged all the videos, and it just made me love this even more. You can tell how much care someone has put into it. One of my favourite games.

Graphics: 10/10 The cutest video game enemies/friends I've ever seen! Music: 10/10 The music sounds good and for that reason I enjoy it. Gameplay: 10/10 As a bullet hell enjoyer, I have nothing to complain about. You can fight back the monsters with a variety of bullet patterns, which is neat. Overall, I rate the game 5 stars!
