If you've ever played Roller Coaster Tycoon, out of all the theme park builders I've played, this game feels the most similar to a true successor to Roller Coaster Tycoon. It's got everything you could want from a theme park builder, and it's honestly very accessible. There's no mandatory time limits on your parks in campaign mode, as all time limits are optional. This is very important as it allows you to play the game the way you like to play and spend as much time as you need on each park. The scenarios are varied and well-thought out, resulting in each park feeling at least somewhat different than the rest. There's a lot of different features for building that can allow you to get very creative with your builds, and the coaster designer is both simple and fun to work with. The only major flaw in the game that keeps it from being a perfect score for me is that there's no Coaster Cam like in RTC3, but that can be fixed by downloading a mod.

As a fan of roller coaster simulation games, particularly RollerCoaster Tycoon from my childhood, I recently discovered Parkitect and absolutely loved it. Unlike newer entries in the genre that didn't resonate with me, Parkitect captures the nostalgic vibe of RTC while offering an improved experience. One aspect I appreciated about Parkitect is its similarity to RTC but with added enhancements. The gameplay mechanics feel familiar yet refined, making it enjoyable to dive back into managing and building theme parks. However, there was a minor downside I encountered: some of the pre-built coasters require DLC or research to unlock all their components. Despite this, it didn't deter me much; I simply placed them down and continued playing. Overall, if you're a fan of RollerCoaster Tycoon and are searching for a new game that captures that magic, I highly recommend Parkitect. It's a worthy successor that brings back fond memories.

Incredible. It's what RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 should have been. I really enjoy the depth of managing your staff and entertainers. Even as far as maintaining the stock to your shops and stalls and even further because you have to create routes to make sure they're always stocked before they run out. So many systems and mechanics that require trainers on RCT that are just built into the game. If you're looking to itch that RCT scratch but you want a more in depth way to do it, this is it. Not even planet coaster can hold the flame like Parkitect does when it comes to management and scenery. The workshop community for this game is great. There's even mods via the workshop allowing full 3D access to the game with the ability to ride the rides like we all love to do (with some limits of course) This game is wonderfully dynamic for the creative mind.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, made today After RcT3's relaunch failure, I needed some kind of park management to fill the gap Planet Coaster was ok, until it felt tired, I guess the game needs dlc to feel complete. Found Parkitect on sale, and immediately dove in. new systems, intuitive coaster building, more involved employee management, and decor matters its not a perfect game by any means, but is well worth the 250hrs i have on record worth checking out if you liked ANY park building games

Honestly right now the best theme park sim on PC. Things I like: Actual in-game incentive for theming, you're encouraged to hide the ugly logistics parts of your park and that means building walls, hedges, decorative shells, and making them look good. It really makes you pay attention to how theming works in actual parks and appreciate the work that goes into it. Lots of variety in rides, themes, and options even before the DLC. Feels like a true successor to the RCT series. Things I don't like: Needing a mod for FPV on rides. That's it, that's the only complaint.
