Nice relaxing game when you need to just chill out and enjoy some world-building :) Finally they also lowered the difficulty of standart mode, so its not point-per-tile-fest from very beginning, but enjoyable and chill experience, with possibility of actually finishing all 73 buildings. Relaxing and enjoyable experience :-)

This game is super relaxing! It feels like a game of perpetually setting up a Settlers of Catan board, connecting resources to build beautiful landscapes. My first run of normal mode lasted a touch over 5 hours. It's a great mindless zen experience.

Pan'orama - 6/10 - Not a bad game and it sort of scratches the Dorfromantik itch but doesn't execute it nearly as well. Pan'orama starts off much easier than it's counterpart, offering a lot more tiles initially and a lot more margin for error. Tiles can be placed with less thought and the points come raking in as you build structures. After a while however, the game can start to become quite monotonous - and by the third or fourth hour, the intimacy of your initial map has been lost and you'll just be smashing tiles wherever to get more points and to build more structures in order to win the game. And then the difficulty spike begins - at around 50,000 points, my hand of tiles started to drain really quickly, my ability to build structures became less frequent and the downspiral of losing began. 5 hours worth of work and it didn't matter how many bonuses I scored, I just couldn't hit the milestones to unlock more buildings - and that's one of the inherent problems with this game - it offers a much longer game than Dorfromantik however the mid-game is monotonous and knowing all my work up until this point would lead to me losing made me question the whole point of starting. Dorfromantik puts a lot more at stake than this game however feels more rewarding when you get that high score you were after. Pan'orama just trundles along until the artificial difficulty spike begins. Yes, you can try to maximise your building placement to help with your scores but that becomes increasingly difficult as your map becomes more sprawling with a patchwork quilt of different tiles scattered everywhere. Visually, Pan'orama is ok - the cover art does look oh so very AI-generated and whilst the initial art style is quaint and cosy, lacks variety which I feel was captured better with Dorfromantik's use of biomes. I also feel that the in-game visuals feel very 'AI' and lack creativity or originality. I tried to use a gamepad to play Pan'orama and was pleased to find that an update last year had added this in. Well, that is only a half-truth. Yes you can use a gamepad, but the game is no way engineered for this and you will still need to use a mouse to select options or to open the construction panel. This is very much a keyboard and mouse game which is a shame as I feel these games lend themselves well to relaxing gamepad play. On the whole, Pan'orama isn't bad - I think the game offers enough change to Dorfromantik to consider it in it's own right, however the artificial difficulty curve and mundane mid-game makes it much less enjoyable. Not bad but not great, and when I was playing it, I just wanted to play Dorfromantik instead.

This is easily a game you can lose yourself in as you watch yourself build your own world from just one block. It has that "just one more" feel as you begin to shape the world being created.

Surprisingly engaging, after first playing I wasn't sure there was a huge amount of depth, but a few ours of play in I'm drawn back again. Fans of Dorfromantik will enjoy this different take on cozy tile placement.
