EDIT: Also this needs to be said: This game is obviously in early access, but not listed as such. I don't know why it's not listed as early access, but definitely is an early access experience. There's a lot of negative reviews talking as if this game is "completed". It is not, the developer is still adding to the game every month or so, and I can only assume the dev team is small. This game is insanely addicting and it gives amazing flash game era vibes. Fantastic game, but the gameplay loop feels more like a clicker than a survival-colony-sim. I got so far into my colony until I realised I had it organised in such a way that my workers stopped cooking food, because you need to manually assign every task, barring gathering. It gets very tedious so I called the end and quit, and here we are. The premise is that your time machine has broken, so you need to tech up through the ages and survive. The game currently doesn't have much of story, or at least a visual one. The tech tree currently isn't very in-depth either at the moment. I think that is this game's biggest issue. The automation and task management options are very bad. You mostly have to run the game yourself and the most automation you will get is the gathering of resources(gathered or hunted resources), agriculture, and crafted resources. The game, currently, is horrifying tedious and grindy. Most of the grind with the tech tree for example comes from the need to constantly juggle several task cycles(hunting and cooking, gathering plants and creating materials, etc.). It's also very difficult to track certain supplies such as tools or clothing, because if a worker is holding it then it will not be counted on the resources menu on the right. Mixed in with this is accessibility, which is also bad. I have found that over the years, due to a mix of a lifetime of gaming and just overall bad ergonomics, my fingers get very stiff and uncomfortable easily, especially when clicking or moving my hand a lot. This game doesn't let you sit back and just observe your colony, you have to be constantly engaged. I think one way to fix this issue, both accessibility and gameplay, is to maybe assign roles if you don't want to remove the interactivity aspect. Or, at least create a worker menu and allow players to manually set each worker's priorities/tasks. Most of the interactivity in colony sims is managing the layout and worker roles(with at least some If these options are in the game then I've missed them, but I believe it would make this game much more accessible to others. The game seems to still be updated over time, so maybe I'll come back to it once in awhile. I only got this game for $3 on sale, so it was a heck of a steal for 8 hours, maybe even more to come! There just isn't a lot here at the moment, and I assume the dev team is small, so low expectations great surprises.

This game is oldschool fun. A slightly addictive colony sim/city builder, with all well-known ingredients. Tech-tree, managing resources, managing workers, expanding your village etc. What I find refreshing is that you teach yourself the mechanics as you progress, no hand-holding and no annoying popups over-explaining everything. I had a lot of fun figuring out the small details and seeing how everything fits together. The player is considered a grown adult who is intelligent enough to understand how to play a relatively simple game as this one. Extra bonuspoints: a friendly and dedicated developer, efficient and pleasant graphics and fully playable on the Steam Deck. Recommended.

A simple and fun colony sim. The problem it is it may be too simple for genre veterans and the lack of tutorial / help / manual / any guidance means that it is not recommended for genre first-timers. If you love colony sims and you're looking for a fun but simple experience that will last about 10 hours this is a good game, especially on sale. I fit this description and I am very happy with my time spent playing. If you're new to the genre or a veteran that wants something interesting / different / complex, then this is not for you.

I cannot wait to see the improvements. I love that this Dev is active and working on updates. It took me about 5 new games to finally get the hang of things. I have tried playing other Colony sims but I always come back to this one. Simple yet satisfying to play. I love the Auto-Save too. I would have lost my first big-colony without it.

A pretty chill little 'city-builder'. Very basic but also easy to get into. Yet not easy to master, as you do need to balance logistics right! Dwarf Fortress and Rimworld players will be quite familiar.
