(Checks my playtime) Is 400 hours enough to convince you that you might enjoy this game? No? Well, I guess I'll say a few things about it then. This game scratches a collecting itch in my brain. And an organizing itch. It's fun to rearrange the ranch to get it juuuust right. There's also a diverse selection of critters to tame, with each of them having different skills that can help you in the wild AND on the ranch. You can completely automate farming with the smaller dinos! The story is cute and the npcs are fun. It's exciting to come across an ultra rare dino. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to expand the ranch so you don't have to release dinos... 46 is not enough for me 🥺

This game has been an absolute blast from start to finish. The ability to run a ranch with dinosaurs is awesome in it's own right however the fact that you can find "shiny" dinosaurs (ultra-rares) has kept me hooked and tickles my serotonin/dopamine receptors and I fear I'm incredibly addicted to the sheer joy I feel when I find them. I have dedicated countless hours hunting my white whales, I've still yet to find a melanistic Troodon however the hole in my heart is slightly alleviated by the 183 other ultra rares. I expect that any future updates will be as good and rewarding as the ones they have continued to drop so far! P.S WHERE DOES CORLAN GET THE CARNIVORE KIBBLE FROM? IS IT DINOSAURS OR.... OTHER RESIDENTS? I NEED TO KNOW.

A casual, simple, adorable little farming sim with dinosaurs. I like dinosaurs. Highly recommend to anybody who just wants a feel-good game without a lot of brainpower or focus needed to really enjoy it and have a great time. Did I mention the dinosaurs are the most adorable things I've ever seen? No? The dinosaurs are the most adorable things I've ever seen. :)

Yes, I recommend, but it's not a recommend for all. I have been a fan of dinosaurs for 40+ years. I am a HUGE fan of farming sims. This looked to be the perfect game for me and parts of it are. The dinosaurs are great. Their different looks, colors, and calls. I enjoy the different things they can do on the ranch and it's kinda of interesting how we befriend them. However, as much as I adore the dinos and the first time I played the demo I was so happy I cried, this could use a lot of help in the game department. Not enough tutorials or ways to check passed info. I get so confused on so many things. What little is in the 'help' section doesn't do much after your first week or two. I've had to either go to the Discord or Google for help with what feels like basic things. I don't like that sometimes info is told to you, once and then you can't review it ever again. I've got severe memory issues so I do sometimes forget what I was just told. Even if I didn't, it'd be nice to have a place to get an idea how to do things again. Like cooking, I still feel sort of lost on when to pull the food off the fire. Nice to know I've mastered 'glop'. The quests get very, very boring. I hate walking in circles looking for the small 'interact' icon when someone has AGAIN lost their hat. No joke, had a series of quests today where 2 different people lost 3 items. Owen, who never wears a hat, lost his hat two places. We have dinosaurs that specifically help us find things, but they can't help with this, why? My mornings are spent running back and forth between Pebble Plaza and my Ranch to get the items someone is requesting. And I can't just bring things I'm hoping to need because the inventory is so small. At one point I was getting a more interesting quest where I needed to observe a dinosaur but that seems to have vanished again. On top of that, you can easily get quests you cannot complete (giving something to an NPC you've not met you or realizing you can't get a an ingredient in the current season) and as far as I can tell, you cannot abandon any quests so they just sit there in your book. I know the quests are optional but they're they are the best way to make money (shells) especially if you're not spending your entire day farming. Couldn't get a berry bush to grow because was missing fertilizer, took me a bit to figure that out and figure what it wanted. Didn't know the dino assigned to planting (once I unlocked that through a quest two in game months in) wouldn't plant if there was no fertilizer. Can be a little overwhelming with 3 different fertilizers. I never know if I'm doing enough to keep my dinosaurs happy. Several I've still not found their favorite foods. I'm not saying I want to be allowed to ignore them, since that's the point of the game, but half my day is quests, trying to figure out farming and the dinos before I even get a chance to explore. So many of the areas that are blocked off are blocked by more than one type of material. So when my smasher is leveled I break stuff and then I need to find a slasher. I'm starting to really not like the music. It doesn't feel varied enough and, for me, just kind of sticks out while I'm running around. I'm guessing the player character has so little stamina so you can rely on your dinosaurs but with all the time off my dinosaurs looking for hats, the energy amount feels extra small. I will be taking a long break from this game, something that makes me bummed but I'm so frustrated and bored it can't be helped. So yes, I recommend this game, I ADORE this game, but it feels very unfinished and if you're not ready for what it's asking of you, you won't have a good time.
