This is a graphical RPG novel that consists of texts and mostly still images or animated still images. It is not in 3D, you cannot see yourself nor can you walk inside your ship. Your ship is a box you put symbols in that represent all your materials like hydrogen or iron. So this is more a kin to a table top game, except you play alone so not even that human contact. If there is an event, it just pops up on your screen, states this happened and what resources you lost. Nothing I could do to prevent that. It feels like I am adrift and have no control, no agency what happens to me. Not my cup of tea, but it might be yours. I have the inkling this game has a good story. That just is not what I want from a game. If I want to read a book, I read a book.

Played it, didn't like it, too boring, too random. Now I played again after reading a guide and have lot's more fun now. Roguelikes need to be demanding. I have played games like FTL, Slay the Spire or Noita, so I don't mind difficult games. However, for me there is just not enough stuff going on in Out There to motivate finding out how to not die after a few jumps. The general game loop is a bit boring as well. However, overall and when you know what you are doing it can be a nice "just one more round" game. Don't know the price, but if you like round based roguelike and don't mind an experience that is more chilled than FTL, you could give this one here a try for around 10 Dollars.
