While I would say season 1 was way more immersive and rich with interesting characters, I was surprised by the quality of the added voice acting! (Apart from the Echo Squad guy. he sounds goofy to me somehow) Overall, I like the overlap with the first season, and would love a 3rd instalment! (maybe without time restraints though, they made the game feel more like a 'race to follow a walk-through' rather than a fuck around, and find out that i loved with the first game so much) Still very much worth it, very fresh

In my view this is a step down from the first game. I think that the concepts they implemented were interesting, but ultimately overcomplicated things to a point where you, as the player, become overly confused as to what to do. As well, it seems like the order of operations you need to accomplish certain things by certain times is extremely difficult to figure out in a first playthrough, requiring multiples playthroughs to really get a full sense of the game's content and alternate endings. For me, the introduction of a social media "influencer" element was intriguing, obviously drawing on the height of Twitter's influence in 2018 as the place where reputations are made or broken. In 2024, we're much more aware of how government interferences controls narratives online, so this factor probably feels less surprising than it did at the game's release. I'd love to see another Orwell game so although this sequel didn't live up to the strength of the first one, there's definitely a great concept that works here and is worth playing.

I love how this one and the previous one is intertwined and happening on the same time, the gameplay got better too.

Ignorance is strength is a smaller yet more intense sequel to the first Orwell, the issue this time is that the thematic purpose for Orwell is already thoroughly and thoughtfully explored in the first game, so on that front the sequel did not and cannot add much to it. With that being said the sequel feels much more personal and emotional that the state is willing to spend so much resource against one man who isn't in the right state of mind, there is something deeply twisted in an engaging way, and tells an even more horrifying tale an encompassing surveillance can do compared to the first. The soundtrack for this is a step up, while still focused on ambience, certain tracks does match intensified and condensed story line of the game.

Checking that I recommend the game because there isn't a neutral option. I love the Orwell games, but this sequel doesn't really expand on the last in any capacity. The story happens simultaneously to the story from the last game, but the crossovers honestly leading the game towards feeling more like a DLC than a sequel. That being said, it was still largely enjoyable! It is also exceedingly short, I would suggest getting it on sale. The biggest complaint: My god why does it take so long to upload and read/listen/sit through every message/call they are receiving. More often than not, you have to sit through all of these messages before continuing to upload new datachunks, which isn't so bad at first, but if you go after 100% achievements like I do, man does it begin to feel TEDIOUS.
