I can't really review or describe this game. To describe or review a game like this feels, disingenious to the amount of work and passion that went into it, and I can't really describe this game without going into detail, either. What I will say is that this is a game that you need to play at some point in your life. It took me years to play it, and it was worth the wait.

I don't usually do reviews. I don't usually write down my feelings into this box below the game. This game is wonderfully crafted, an amazing use of meta puzzles and the environments that you traverse are beautiful with music that is wonderfully companies them. I had the entire plot summarised in an hour long video and was recommended to still go buy it and it still invoked such a powerful response from me emotionally. 10/10, the less you know the better the experience is. Play it blind for the full, intended experience. 10/10 would recommend itsy bitsy spoiler (nothing too big) this game breaks the fourth wall in so many unique and interesting ways it 's more of fourth swiss-cheese

One Shot isn't a game you'll play forever, it isn't a game that will entertain you for hundreds of hours. It is a game that you play expierience once. And That Play through will stick with you for a long time. Buy It Blind. The Less you know, the better.

There are millions, probably billions of games out there. Most of them are okay, some of them are shit, and some of them are great. But in that vast, vast sea of games, books, shows, films you can and will consume, enjoy, and forget about in a year until someone mentions it again, there exist that microscopic fraction of a fraction of media that shows up in just the right place, at the right time, for the right person. Now I can't promise that this will be one of those games, that's not a fair expectation for you or Oneshot. But it was definitely one of those special gems for me. This game is phenomenal, I wish I could talk about it in detail but it's best to go into it blind, and I'm not gonna take that chance away from you if you still have it, especially since I can count on a single hand the number of games I'd like to be able to forget just to experience for the first time again, and this is one of them. It's not my favorite game, but god damn is it close, it's probably in my top 5 and it's definitely the best game I've played this year. I can't recommend it enough. And for those of you who are curious, mine was 5.

A very sweet, somber adventure where the player is as much a character as the protagonist is. It's a lot of walking and talking, picking up items and combining them with each other and the environment to progress. Sometimes you'll have to think outside the confines of the game to progress, which is neat. Be wary that Wallpaper Engine should be turned off while playing, as it prevents you from seeing a puzzle piece. Also, the game encourages you to play it in the windowed mode. The window is tiny and I had to squint to view it. While I get the rationale, I had to go full screen to enjoy it.
