Was sceptical about getting this. I Played the first one to death and didn't think they could add much of substance to make it worth a sequel... Boy was I wrong! Don't want to write an essay so I'll sum it up with "Harder, slicker, faster, better"

Incredibly fun, just like the first one but dialed up to 11. Constant visual stimuli, constant little calculations and decisions to be made. You can't turn off your brain, but you can enter a "flow state" - and that's really satisfying. This is a perfect example of a "just one more..." game. Tons of skills to unlock, tons of levels to fight through, and lots of variations to the gameplay (which is wild because there are only two buttons). I can't recommend it enough.

Just a crazy good time, and shows how a simple game can be fantastic. It's fast, addictive, and insane arcade action, and if someone installed this in an old two-button Street Fighter 1 cabinet I would play the hell out of it even more. It's got the theme of 70s kung fu action movies, the blood of the most violent Japanese action movies, and the irreverent attitude of 90s American action movies where absolutely everything must be extreme. Left and Right. That's your controls. You can rebind them if you want to left d-pad and right button. Or whatever. But what follows is all timing, carnage, and quick recall. Enemies are single hit, multiple hit, triple hit. Sometimes they're RLR, something RLRR, etc. Minibosses are a series of back and forth randomly generated strings. Most levels are Kill X Dudes. There can be additional requirements, like the action bar being shorter (throws off your timing compared to how you could target dudes before), nothing but dodges/blocks, earning X types of kill, blah blah. And there's an alternate mode that uses two new buttons. You play the game, but you're also shooing a cat away from the screen. Perfect.

The sequel of my previous review of the same excellent game. I love both versions! :3 Of course by a sequel; it comes with better visuals, vibrant colours, more variants. And now your matchstick fighter can be customize! With eyes, skin colours etc, making the fights looks more alive and far realistic! ...in a cartoony way of course. You can try the demo first for only an itsy bitsy teeny weeny tiny slice of a complete version, then buy it. Or simply just buy the game to get the fully complete experience, plus helping devs paying the monthly bills, daily meals and making the world a much better place. (^_^)d
