This game is a lot of fun and, as others will likely point out, a lot like Hades. Combat is excellent, and you can get various upgrades to your character throughout your run and back at base. I had more trouble with the standard enemies than I did with bosses though. The map variety was surprising as well. I was initially concerned that it may get old quite quickly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The art for the nuns was good, and it made me laugh a few times because of how over-the-top the outfits were. The overall design and art for the maps is really good, especially the base.

Fantastic fun little roguelike with a vampire/nun theme. Really having fun with it, but I can't for the life of me understand why theres a sexual content tag on this. The closest you get to literally anything sexual is the tight form fitting outfits the nuns wear. Thats it. Literally nothing suggestive outside of the designs.

This game is a Rogue-lite game that focuses on Hades like combat where you are constantly attacking and dodging. And then picking from 1-3 exits that lead to rooms with different rewards. If your looking for a super unique and inspired Action/Adventure Rogue-lite, your looking in the wrong place. The game at its core is a direct rip off of Hades when it comes to combat and exploration. You go from room to room, each one denoted by symbols on doors that tell you what rewards will be inside. Combat is full spam attacks and time dodges. The gameplay loops sees you getting silver coins to buy and upgrade your weapons, character and skills. And A type of small blood crystal that can be used as currency during the run at the shopkeeper to buy relics. Relics are where this game somewhat differentiates itself from other similar games. You have a grid-type inventory that you have to fit your relics in (ala backpack hero, or backpack battles.) It never expands but you don't need it to. It is a good size to limit you and force you into a certain build. There are 3 main damage types, Physical, Fire, and Holy. Overall the game is very simple stat wise and you can quickly become overpowered as there are no difficulty levels. If you focus on one or two types of damage, along with primary attack or skills, you can easily plow through a run quickly. (30 minutes about) The game isn't hard but it certainly is fun for the short while it takes to 100% the game. It took me about 7 hours to get all the achievements and in game quests completed along with the usual completion requirements minus fully upgrading all 3 characters. (you get very little silver each run so upgrading each stat past the first 3-4 times is rouph.) In the end, the game is short, but well put together and I had no bugs or glitches to speak of. The different gameplay between characters is very nice, and along with the varied relics, you can certainly get a lot of different builds. It is certainly worth the price. If your looking for a H-game or even just any type of Erotic game, this probably won't itch that nerve at all. The characters are cute and look very nice, but there isn't anything beyond a touch of fan service.

Similar enough to Hades and very enjoyable. Bought it expecting H slop but it does not have any H content. Still a lot of fun.

Guys, it's exactly what you think... I got this for nun thighs Okay enough playing the degenerate angle, You're here for a Sus Review and let's get into it. NUNHOLY! What to Expect? Nunholy is the second game by solo dev Chowbie who is coming off the heels of his maiden title Wedding Witch which is a fun, light, bullet heaven styled game starring a beautiful witch protagonist. Nunholy is very much inspired by Hades and Bloodborne in its gameplay and styling respectively. At times, the framing of certain scenes made me double take to make sure I was actually playing this game and not back in Tartarus. The supporting cast of characters are all in Chowbie's signature soft dream-like style and so far I haven't seen a lacking design from the sisterhood. The Good Nunholy presents a visual feast beyond the protagonist and her supporting coterie. The environments are all beautifully constructed but can feel very close to Hades aesthetic at times. There are 3 primary characters to select from, each offering a slightly different approach to the early game. As of this review, I've only really put any time in with Preiya. The different characters, instead, replace the swappable weapons in Hades. You can level up your passive abilities, stats and even unlock alternative damage types for your character's main weapon, active skill, and sub attack in the Hunter's House of Dream Hades , giving each character's arsenal a new level of depth and build-fiends plenty of toys tom play with. However, the real meat of this game is the ATTACHE CASE! That's right, you can optimize passives mid-run by picking up relics and carefully organizing them into your case. A wonderful addition to just really make the mind goblins go crazy later in a run when you're running low on space but really want to find a way to fit that third cross in. Other than relics you'll find other passives, ultimate abilities to cast, and meta currencies in run but I'll leave some for you to discover alone. The Bad Okay. Let's get started by addressing the most pressing issue during my initial impressions. >The game feel isn't the best< Look, I'm bad at listing criticism for single dev games, because these people work hard to make cool things for us to play. Chowbie has been putting a lot of work into creating visually appealing games and it's very impressive what they've been able to cook up twice now. However, I wouldn't be doing my due diligence if I don't bring up some specific points. The game feels slippery in combat and there's a lack of any sort of soft lock on to aid in maintaining an assault on an enemy if you are holding a direction, causing you to drop any juggles you're attempting to maintain. You can counter the issue planting yourself until the target has died, then moving to the next but can feel counter intuitive in a game presenting itself as adjacent to two aggressive games. This was the primary cause of taking damage as I would dive into a pack of enemies, lose a juggle then lose a chunk of HP to a sweeping hit. It is also hard to notice when you take damage since there's not a lot of feedback visually, on controller you do get a small rumble to indicate you've been hit. The Verdict Should you buy this game? I'm a fan of supporting small dev games that go for a stylish aesthetic. Nunholy is a visually appealing Action-Roguelite with some jank but also a lot of interesting sub systems and lore to get pulled into. I fully plan to sink plenty of hours into a (in my case) awaited title. If you've got $10 to spare and are looking for a new Hades adjacent game to put some time into (or you just really like the idea of vampire-nun thighs) then Nunholy is a worthy addition to your small dev library. *edited for formatting
