Disclaimer, started playing with the patch day 1 on steam deck. You have to enable geProton 8.22 for movies and I'm very thankful for those in public discussion who took the time to explain this. One last thing, I had no idea what I was in for upon purchasing this game, and the description of the game doesnt even clarify (probably on purpose). Currently at the 2 hour mark and I'm contemplating whether or not I should stick with this, it was due to the OVERWHELMING positive reviews and those in comments saying PEAK WRITING, etc. that I became interested. With that being said... I'm not big on hentai games, in fact I find them a bit awkward, but Right now I wouldn't say the game is hentai (as of now). Those who are looking for hentai shouldn't pick this up, but I found it odd that there wasn't even an adult only rating, but this might be because steam didn't intend on the game having what the patch allows. After typing this, I question what the game would even consist of if NOT for the patch... but I digress. The game is centered around sex, an island of sex where anything goes. Sadly, and strangely, this includes sex between siblings, and this is the major issue I also happen to have with the game. Most of the game is extremely lewd at the least, parts of it are funny, the majority of it I believe is over the top (which I attest this to being its strange sense of 'world building'), but the main character and his SISTER, often get a little too close for comfort, and the game plays it off as being a normal occurrence. I mean, his sister isn't into men, but she only wants him, and the MC is strangely aware and OK with this. Their relationship continues to erode when the MC has to drag her out of bed and get her changed for school, even helping her pick out underclothes. Like... what? There's an instance where the MC's sister says she wants to lose her virginity to her brother and his girlfriend, and he's ok with this. Despite the extremely nonsensical plot and over-the-top sexuality, this is my biggest complaint with the game and since the localization team took so many liberties to add some of the strangest "zoomer" terms to the game (you'll find mentions of this in many of the reviews) and people are going to hate me for this, I would have liked the game a lot more if they changed the story to the sister being an old friend, step sister, or something less creepy than sister by blood. I know this will garner some backlash and somehow that makes me a boomer lmao, but its hard for me to continue playing this after reading that the brother had to grope his own sister to satisfy the masses, call me old fashioned. As a late note, i won't down vote the game because FOR WHAT IT IS, it's funny, even with some of the cheesy dialogue. If the sibling stuff above doesnt deter you from the purchase, then you'll probably love this game, but I'm still on the fence. Thanks for reading.

Don't Dismiss It as a Boring Adult Game If you only enjoy pure love stories or aren't into hentai content, you might find the game's world setting hard to accept at first. However, once you start playing and get accustomed to the world, you'll absolutely fall in love with it. That's exactly what happened to me—before I knew it, I had played for 9 hours straight and spent an entire day on it. If you're hesitating about whether to buy it, just consider it a gamble; but I can tell you, buying this game definitely won't disappoint you (i guess). That said, this game might not be suitable for players who haven't had much experience with 18+ galgames. Such players might find it boring or overly focused on hentai elements, leading them to dislike galgames even more. (Don't forget to download the patch on Johren; Japanese IPs are blocked.) Here's an example: "I often feel out of place with those around me because I'm not perverted enough." This is the review I wrote after playing for 30 minutes on August 4th at 6:31 PM. So yes, you need to embrace the world setting to fully appreciate this interesting story.

This game is actually funny as hell. Seriously had my dying at some points, and not the usual shitty type of humor you see in animanga a lot. Nukitashi just has a hilarious way of doing humor. Everything is overbearingly sexual, and it makes it way better. Whether it be Junnosuke and his sister being eternal virgins who goon 4 times a day, Misaki talking about playing with her ass 24/7, or the Wata-senpai acting older than she looks, it's all funny as hell. Great, fun story, awesome romance and CGs, and pure, imaginative bullshit that's so ridiculous its good. Junnosuke and the NLNS are my goats and I can't wait to read the sequel 9/10 PLAY THIS GAME

8/10 Looking across the history of visual novels and even the broader landscape of video games, it's challenging to find a work with a utopian setting as wildly hedonistic as NUKITASHI. Yet, contrary to its daunting title and extreme world concept, The essence of this work's storyline, in reality, manages to be simultaneously hilarious and exhilarating, offering a rebellious take on traditional Japanese mainstream Jun'ai narratives. What kind of charm does this widely acclaimed work possess to make such a significant impact in the Japanese visual novel gaming scene? The atmosphere of this work is absurd to the extreme, with a plethora of crude and vulgar jokes constantly challenging the player's tolerance. However, behind the absurd storyline lies a myriad of the author's metaphors and reflections on order, values, concepts of good and evil, and identity politics. The core of the story has considerable depth, presenting serious considerations of sociology, ethics, and politics in an absurdly light-hearted manner. To simply label it as "Nukige" would undoubtedly be an oversimplification. Besides the impressive voice acting of the main characters, what's truly commendable is the earnest and detailed voice work for every background character, combined with the chaotic BGV in the scenes and the lazy, psychedelic Acid Jazz music, offering players an experience as if they are immersed in this crazy utopian world. Furthermore, the writing quality of this work is also excellent. As a visual novel, it provides a space for players to deeply engage and immerse themselves, which is indeed rare. While this work indeed has many unique aspects, the narrative experience it provides might not quite meet the expectations set by its 85-point median score on ErogameSpace. Besides the story becoming increasingly lackluster in the middle and late stages, the quality of the narrative across different branches varies significantly. Many plot developments are somewhat clichéd and repetitive, and the story's logic is not flawless. In terms of sociological, ethical, and political reflections on identity politics, groupthink, and concepts of good and evil, the exploration is only superficial and lacks depth. The portrayal of many main characters remains stereotypical, with character development being too superficial to elicit empathy from players, although the three supporting characters from SS are more successfully fleshed out, almost to the point of overshadowing the main cast. At the same time, the abundance of Japanese puns, subculture references, and NETA tributes in the game raises the barrier to entry, making it unfortunate that not all players can appreciate the ingenuity of these clever designs. I still believe that NUKITASHI is an exceptional game. Its bold and unique theme and world view alone are enough to attract the majority of visual novel enthusiasts and Japanese game fans. The alternative, rebellious interpretation of traditional Japanese Jun'ai mainstream narratives is also a major highlight of this work. However, the storyline may be difficult to scrutinize, and its controversial absurd expression along with its hedonistic world view might deter some players, while for others who come purely for its "title," the relatively depth and Jun'ai mainstream storyline core might not meet their expectations. Yet, if you can accept these aspects, I believe you will find insights in this work that stands out not just in the visual novel genre, but in the history of video games as a whole.
