Far from perfect, but if you aren't weirded out by the jankiness, it is uniquely fun. It combines combat, puzzles and story to create a B-movie type of fun. If you'd ask what I liked about it the most it's generally the absurdity and how the game has small gray aliens, and how a zombie gets hit by cars on a highway multiple times and can't die because it's undead. I could say the same for their previous game Loco Parentis, and I hope devs make more stuff like this. With its puzzles, it takes ideas from point&click adventures and creates light escape rooms. They're thematically creative, and makes you wonder what comes next. Different items can be used to solve the same puzzle, so there's some nice flexibility in them, like scissors or a knife can cut the same rope. However trying every item on each of the puzzles can get a little old, and does not provide you with multiple routes, just think of it as if there were multiple keys for the same lock. Definitely better than old point and clicks, but nothing as free and physical as "Baldurs Gate 3" or "Portal/Talos/Witness" etc. The combat is simple, the idea is closer to "In Sound Mind", although with a weaker execution, it goes for set piece boss battles and unusual enemy types. Ironically it could use enemies that actually came at you like regular zombies rather than circle around or leap all the time because the guns and ragdolls are generally fun but enemy movement can feel awkward. The combat is also triggered at certain times when you progress into a level, and does not take too long, it usually end abruptly after you kill less than 10 enemies, and arenas are not designed around larger fights unless it's a Boss fight. The story is like a Silent Hill wannabe plot without the depressive serious tone, in a crazy drug trip kind of way. It is a fun kind of cringeworthy, simply absurd. It basically did Smiling Friends' flat earth joke before they came up with it. The bad part is that the writing is convoluted yet somehow not subtle at all, characters are chatterboxes who bombard you with cutscenes but their words say nothing not to give the plot away, so you take the piss on them because that's all you're left with. I think it being confusing works against it, and it misguides you so you can't even tell what's going on and why exactly you're doing things which impacts the gameplay too because you have to solve puzzles about it. I would prefer if it did not bother with reveals and twists and if it was dumber, more structured and more entertaining from the start.

Alright. I mean, the game's alright. Taken as a game in isolation, it's really poor. But kind of like Control, what makes it isn't the gameplay, it's everything BUT the gameplay. I hated playing Control, but I loved Control. And... I didn't care greatly for playing this. But I loved it. It's the story. And brother (sister, other-sort-of-sibling as appropriate), that's where this game delivers. There's a lot of cutscenes! We're talking 0.6 Hideo Kojimas worth, here. I'm not going to say it's the greatest story either, for a variety of reasons I'll get into below. But nobody can say this thing isn't ambitious , and I love the hell out of ambition. This has enough ambition to run for Intergalactic President. The biggest handicap this game faces is language. The story was clearly not originally written in English, translation is an artform, and some artists are simply better than others. I think a lot of nuance was lost along the way to English. Half the voice actors are clearly not native English speakers, the other half that are adept are trying their best at a script that writes cheques it can't completely cash. Ambitious, though! I think with a better translation and voice coaching, they could have nailed it better. Budgetary concerns though, you know? This isn't a AAA game. The developers will remind you, often, that this isn't a AAA game, in case you forgot when you boot up the game. You'll see it in the animations, which are... uneven at best. I'd like to think they were animated by hand, and some of the animators simply better than others. This is the nicest way I can put it. The star of the show is the girl in the cropped leather jacket, and though she has the most camera time, she looks like the most corners were cut. Her animations sometimes come off stilted, and her face gets... just a bit off. You can argue that's on purpose (especially once you understand her role), but I'm not quite buying it. So yes, this is basically a movie in game form. The game itself? There's the occasional combat sequence, but you can just Cookie Clicker your way through with a melee weapon (boss fights excepted, but they're not much harder). The majory is a Sierra-like puzzle game, where you rummage items out of hotspots in the environment, and use them on other hotspots in the environment. Many of them have multiple solutions, they all make some degree of sense, they're not Sierra-grade stupidities, thank goodness. Every rare now and again, you need to throw rocks at stuff. (Sanity saver: Throw rocks at glass windows and a gong. Just FYI. You're welcome.) Two complaints people have: The plot makes no sense! It will, as you get through Chapter 4. But the big reveal that makes it come together (a tiny bit like Fight Club) is basically at the very, very end. Something something Epic Game store! The game used to have Epic integration. It appears no longer to. I didn't have to sign in or anything. And I'm no Epic fan, I rebought the one game I had there, so I'd not have to go back. It's kind like some sort of limited-run arthaus movie. 30 people in the theatre, nursing the same artisanal single-origin drink all night, smugly congratulating themselves on how awesome and cultured they were and how the world just doesn't get it. I am awesome, I am hip, and I have more culture than the yoghurt aisle in your grocery store. People have said I am "dripping" and "rizz". But I also can irony-appreciate the weirdest things and I sip the juice out of tuna cans, so if you think my opinions are suspect, you'll not hurt my feelings one bit. So let me wrap this up, then: This game is gonna be really polarizing. If you think you can spring for a weird plot and can put up with some generally bizarre gameplay decisions, you could do a lot worse than this. If you get stuck somewhere, I'll nudge you through it. (The guides are useless past the halfway point.) But I am warning you, too. This isn't for everyone. This is like whether or not you should put beans in chili, like whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza. Don't say you weren't warned. I'm done playing it, though I may go back and speedrun it to show my wife the plot at some point. I'm onto something else now, just haven't decided what yet. Pop on by (https://www.twitch.tv/fdejeuner), tell me what you think about something. Anything. Or just say hi. The best part of all this, for me, is actually talking with people who like reading, so clearly if you're down here, you're my kind of people. Hopefully I'll see you there.

They Fixed the multiplayer, and at this point (I've been following since chapter 1 and was excited for chapter 2) I can say that it is well worth 10 bucks. . . But it's 7.00 So get it. Because I already updated this review once, and it was positive. But now, It's well worth your money. And the replay ability because of how you handle puzzles alone kept me playing with multiple people. There is enough content and bug fixes that they can raise the price. Fun game too. Again, well worth the price.

An interesting game, the developers managed to come up with an unusual plot. In fact, this is a dark action game with puzzles and a light touch of horror. I played alone, I liked it, the atmosphere is gloomy, the graphics are beautiful (if you don't look closely), the voice acting and video inserts on the engine pleases. I didn’t like the fact that the inventory was small, but there were a lot of items, as a result, you couldn’t take a lot with you and you don’t know what you need to take and will be useful and what is useless. In general, I recommend it, I wonder what will happen next in the story, I will definitely continue to stream.
