It's a bit too short, but I enjoyed every moment of it. I love the basic mechanic and vibe. I feel like this is a foundation for a truly great 10/10 game. I hope that there's more like this coming.

Don’t make this your first deckbuilder game, but if you’ve played Slay the Spire and enjoyed it and enjoyed it and want a new experience, this is a great grab. Adding movement to the game adds an extra layer of strategy to the genre, and becomes even more challenging the further in you get. Playing as the character with guns was an intriguing experience, albeit a tougher one to get the hang of (although, the same may be said about the game as a whole). Fun and colorful graphics, great 80’s synthwave soundtrack, extra challenging, and love the three protagonists!

A lot of fun, good balancing, and worth the buy. I think for the 2nd unlockable character, there should be a encore card for switching to pistol. Getting stuck with rifle out and not being able to switch to move when you have ranged enemies with global targeting is just getting locked out.

There's a lot of rogue-like deckbuilders, but this one's production value is really nice. There's some twists to a slay the spire or fights in tight spaces too. What's more, I like how the characters feel powerful while still requiring some thought to finish a run. Good game.

I've become slightly, ahem, obsessed with roguelike deckbuilders over the past few years. As a result, I've played a good number of them. Nitro Kid is one of the better ones out there and is the kind of game that I will come back to even after going a few weeks or months without playing it. The game features three unique heroes with disparate play styles and decks. I find the difficulty just about perfect, with the game being challenging without feeling cheap. There are plenty of opportunities for syngery, and the game will let you know if you are doing a poor job of exploiting those. This is all pretty standard fare for standouts of the genre. What really stands out about Nitro Kid is the style. The 80s synthwave soundtrack is phenomenal (I sometimes listen to it while working), and I love the art style. The story associated with the roguelike action isn't exactly deep, but it very much has the feel of an 80s television show. Do yourself a favor and check this one out.
