This is the rare category of game that only gets made by a brilliant crazy person. The premise will only apply to a niche of (also crazy) people, but it executes on it's premise with absolute perfection. If the idea of planning railroad networks sounds *fun* and not absurd and deranged to you, then you will enjoy this game.

Just got it and have played a bit, So far the game is amazing with the amount of detail and granularity it delivers. I could and probably will spend hours designing intricate subway, train and tram networks all over the world. Where the game does fall short is in intercity or intercountry rail since its really optimized for the small scale of a city. Some thing i would love to see implemented is a satelite view for the map to get a better judgement for the landscape, being able to go all around the world with a train and some more controll over the rail placement. other than that its shaping up to be an amazing game and i can't wait to see what it will look like in future updates and the full release

Passenger Train simulator at Insane scales. It has a very steep learning curve, but rewards you with some addictive gameplay after. Its not as well polished as OpenTTD, but makes for it with flexibility. With some changes to make passenger distribution more interesting (like airports being destinations). it would be basically the perfect game for any train nerd.

I have bought, played, absolutely been enamoured with, kept playing, suddenly understood just how far out of my depth I am, and refunded this game. I must recommend it. It fucking rules. Build a new rail/tram network *anywhere on earth*. Great elevator pitch. Until I realised that you need to be doing all the signal design, station design, scheduling, and more. I know there are a couple of people who may have just had absolutely life altering orgasms reading this sentence, but it gave me a profound sense of gaming thalassophobia. Absolutely a 15/10 game if you are the kinda person who loves to play with virtual signals etc. Also, the workshops is *filled* with beautiful, insane, and extremely useful creations, tools, and more that you would expect from a community composed of the kind of people who play this.
