I like it. It's easy to use once you figure out how it's setup. I don't think the tutorial did a good job of explaining. I don't like the text formatting because it uses code, but that may be so it converts to word. You can copy from word to nimble writer just fine, so I don't know why it needs the code in the first place. I also don't like that you can not easily change the color of font. Would love that, especially for highlighting info or distinguishing between chars. I like that you can open up a file and save multiple files in it for your stories, so you can have multiple chapters, character sheets, notes etc, in the same file. That's the main thing I wanted - a way to organize everything related to a story in one file and access it quickly. I would try this out, especially on a discount.

I love it!! It's sososo useful for writing, and the achievements just give me more drive - like ofc i need to write 2k words every day for a month to get a shiny jpeg on my profile; my fanfiction account is booming lately!

I've used it for over 200 hours and I love it. It's really customizable so it can be as flashy or as simple as needed. Also it's great for organizing character sheets, notes, ideas. all around a great tool. I've personally enjoyed the chapter organizing. If there is any downside it's that it doesn't work on the Steamdeck. But if I had a laptop I could take advantage of the cloud storage to write on the go.

I've been using Nimble Writer for almost two years and have gotten more than I ever expected to out of it. It has fantastic customization and managing chapters is far easier in this software than most others at this price point. It's great for brainstorming, rough drafts, and fan fiction writing. The program does not have a traditional spell-check like others do. There is a button that will tell you what words are misspelled but not which. This might irritate some (it did me at first), but I've come to enjoy it. Removing spell check removed many distractions that come with it (such as premature editing). If you're looking for a distraction free software with great organization options for your rough drafts, I'd say Nimble Writer is for you. I've written nearly 500,000 words using this program: everything from short stories, fan fiction, novel drafts, brainstorms, and the mundane email or essay. I've used this on a simple Windows laptop and have now moved on to using it on Steam Deck (in desktop mode) with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Both work great. Pro-Tip: To change the size of your font, press ctrl + or ctrl -. This helps a lot if working on the Steam Deck!

I love this word processor. It is non-invasive by not pointing out your mistakes, (I edit in a different program), helping me to concentrate on the first draft only. The customization settings are great and helped me with concentration and immersion. Although it will not be for everyone because of the limited capabilities, I find it great for a first-draft processor. Files can be exported to your PC, but you can also copy and paste your writing to wherever you want to do spellchecks. The only thing that I think will make it even better, is if it gets a function that you can use to set your daily word goal that display the progress on a bar or such. Really good tool for casual or professional writing.
