Good game! It's a horror game with retro PS1-style visuals and intense survival mechanics. The decaying environments and relentless zombie hordes creates a good atmosphere, keeping you on edge throughout. It’s kind of campy, but in a fun, intentional way that adds to its charm.

Night at the Gates of Hell is one of the greatest zombie games of all time. Rather than making a video game that has very video gamey zombie story, Night at the Gates of Hell is a Lucio Fulci-esque masterclass in zombie storytelling, with great gameplay to boot. This is my very favorite Puppet Combo game, as well as the best Torture Star Video release. I very much want to play a sequel or another zombie game in this style.

Night at the Gates of Hell is a simple, short, survival horror game of questionable quality that I none the less had fun with. In all honesty, this game will not be for everyone, especially if you have high standards for horror, or... anything really. Evening at the Door of Doom is a one of a collection of games which exist primarily to satirise old B movie horror, with plots and characters which somehow manage to be predictable and bizarre at the same time. In Dawn at the Window of Hades, you'll be thrown into an undead apocalypse brought on by a mysterious (and ill defined) cult. Lead by an insane priest on a mission, the cult has endeavoured to open the gates of hell, returning the rotting corpses of the world to ravenous un-life. You and a gaggle to hideous low-polygon survivors attempt to extricate yourselves to an island in the hopes of evading the cult and roving zombie horrors. To do this you have 3 means of defense. A 6 shot revolver, a 4 chamber shotgun, and knives. The pistol and shotgun require decent aim, which requires you to hold still to look down sites. Firing from the hip tends to be a waste of (initially) precious ammo, though the shotgun does better in this category, as you might expect. Knives work as defense items, killing a single regular enemy at the cost of the knife. Still everything is limited, so using guns or evading enemies is preferred. Each regular enemy dies in 1 shot to the head, but nothing else will put them down. So, aiming is important. The game is over in a handful of hours, and you could probably speed run the whole thing in less than 1. The low polygon characters and environments are pretty hideous, and the whole game feels like the result of a game jam developer session or something similar. Still it's a game primarily made to ape the genre and it's tropes. Scares are pretty cheap for the most part, and I recommend turning the volume down, as a lot of the scares are a mix of 'spooky jump scares (tm)', haunted noises.mp3, and groaning/screaming. As for a recommendation for this game, I can't put a middle thumb, only up and down. I'll put this game in the thumbs up category simply because it is a complete and functional game with some real effort to make a spooky horror themed adventure that doesn't take too long to get through. Microwave Horror, if you will. This game is in the same style as 'Murder House' or perhaps 'Nightmare of Decay' which are both titles I enjoyed. Still I would say only consider purchasing '2am at the Doggy-Door of Heck' if you don't have other horror games to play.

Night At the Gates of Hell really knows how to ramp up the creep factor, especially with that little kid character who seems like they've taken a few too many tips from classic horror flicks. Seriously, every time that kid popped up, I couldn't decide whether to laugh or hide under my blanket. The game nails the spooky ambiance and keeps you guessing what's lurking around the next corner. It's a wild ride through a horror landscape that's as eerie as it is amusing. So, if you're up for a few good scares mixed with some chuckles at the absurdity of it all, this one might just be your next favorite haunt
