Nephise Begins was an absolute delight to play! You venture into a sprawling forest map in search of skulls, mushrooms, and other clues to help the main character complete their quest—and collect every achievement along the way. The atmosphere is enchanting, and the attention to detail is remarkable; the game nearly rivals AAA visuals despite its price of just around a dollar US. The music perfectly enhances the environment, and the storyteller adds a wonderful layer of guidance by providing hints on where to go and what to do. The game also offers adjustable settings for graphics, video, and audio, allowing you to tailor the experience to your PC specifications and personal preferences. I found the game very accessible—after roughly 20 minutes, I was fully oriented with the map. The story concludes with a cliffhanger that naturally leads into the other Nephise games by the developer. For me, Nephise Begins is an excellent introduction to the series, and I'm considering checking out the other Nephise titles. It’s a charming casual adventure that's perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing experience with straightforward objectives.

A little bit of exploration with some fantasy. Pace is rather slow but also it doesn't take much time to complete. Gameplay wise might feel somewhat unfinished. Overall not bad option for round of walking sim with some unusual story.

Kinda out-there. It is more like a concept game and not like a full game. I guess I was entertained enough to give it a thumps up. Easy to get all the achievements.

A nice prequel to the first game. Its mostly the same but still very nice. The collis are harder to find this time but not too hard. Its pretty short and pretty nice. I can really recommend this game

'Nephise Begins' is a delightful, atmospheric game that tells the story of Nephise before she became an orb collector. The game features narration, a HUD, stunning landscapes, and various collectibles (mushrooms, letters, animal skulls). It also includes 5 Steam achievements and 3 in-game trading cards (out of 5 available for the badge). I completed the game in around 20 minutes, collecting all the collectibles and unlocking all the achievements in a single sitting. While the game has only one ending and lacks a save feature, its straightforward design and instructions make it accessible to players of all skill levels. The difficulty is very low, which I would rate as 1/10. From the start, 'Nephise Begins' impresses with its beautiful foggy landscapes and rolling hills. The atmosphere is the game’s standout feature, enhanced by soothing music and an elder narrator who guides the story. Players will collect animal skulls and place them on amphoras, with the puzzles being simple yet satisfying. The HUD helps track your progress, showing how many skulls and mushrooms you’ve collected. Despite being short and relatively easy, the game provides an enjoyable and relaxing experience. For those seeking more complex gameplay or longer playtime, 'Nephise Begins' might feel a bit light, as it is primarily designed for players who appreciate mood and ambiance over challenge. At its current price of €0.99, I find the game reasonably priced, but given its short length, I’d recommend waiting for a sale. In conclusion, 'Nephise Begins' is perfect for those who enjoy atmospheric games and want a brief, calming experience. It may not be for everyone, but it excels at delivering a peaceful, mood-driven environment.
