This is slightly more genre consistent compared to the first game. Also a bit less straining to play. The levels are a bit more simplified, and the encounters scale properly. We have 2 new enemy types which can be very annoying to deal with until you get the shadow claw. It was fun to actually play as a german soldier in WW1 compared to always playing as the opposing front. It plays out as a solid prequel to the first game. The sad part is, you can see the influence of Cod. How in multiple scenarios you must wait for your team mates to open the door for you, and fight for you. The first game didn't have this. Now all shooters have this infection. But they still managed to keep it classy.

Cheap'n'cheerful! Doesn't take up much space on the HDD either! The game is from the POV of a German soldier, which will appeal to many, for some reason or other, but this may also put people off. Forget politics - if you liked Wolfenstein RTCW, this may tick the right boxes for you. It's not very complex, but it's fun for a quick run around, shooting zombies on fire, and so forth. I'm still on the first level, haven't seen any truly eldritch horrors yet... If you are one of these "punch a nazi" kind of people, it probably won't appeal to you, simply because the protagonist is German - but don't go expecting "Necrovision - The Glory Of The Goose-step", either! Politics doesn't enter into it, the game focuses on survival. Give it a go!

Melee combat feels awful, hitboxes are probably inconsistent, random objects can send you flying, your rockets have massive knockback on enemies but it appears that they actually pull the player character towards the explosion or at least downwards, you can get stuck on, in (?), next to and possibly under(?) enemies and some bossfights seem to involve quite a lot of luck. Despite this (or, in some situations, because of this) I have had more fun with this janky trainwreck than with most other singleplayer games I've played. This, just like the main game, is a perfect storm of strange, sometimes ambitious ideas, bugs and likely many compromises in the developement and writing process. The clash between gameplay and story, as well as tonal clashes within the story, are a sight to behold. There were several instances where it felt like the comedic timing was intended, but more moments where it felt too good for anyone to come up with on purpose. This game might not be for everyone, but I'm sure some people with a similar sense of humor will have a blast. 10/10 Also I'm pretty sure adding "+dx9" in the launch options makes both games run better under windows 10. The game didn't crash once.

6.5/10 While still flawed, its a solid improvement over the original. Unlike the first game, it stays in world war 1, up until the last 2 levels, the last of which is just a boss fight. So if you were baited into the original by the wolfenstein in ww1 setting, this game will actually give you that. Better yet, while the main charater will run his yap during story sequences, he doesn't constantly quip like Simon did. The writing is still pretty cheesy though. Also had less game breaking bugs that the first, so that's a plus. For its price, I do think its worth giving this game a chance, even if you were turned off by the original.

Forgotten gem. We probably never will see a modern remake. It has it´s jank and weird physics. Jonas is much more likeable than Simon. Chad Imperial German scientist vs Zealot American. The story takes more grounded stand, and tries to explain itself more better. The tank and plane scenes were perfect. For historical and for fun reasons it makes sense, that you´re made to drive the FT17 rather than A7V Somehow combat felt more functional than in the First one. You actually had fellow soldiers from both sides helping you. Not so much of lost company then... More interesting enemy variety. Possessed nurses (I see you devs) Shield bearers Werewolves _____________________ Few things before launching. _____________________ Set +dx10 As launch option in steam, To remove the washed out look. Disabled AA in-game and multisampling Then go to Nvidia control panel (Or similiar for your GPU) AA in Nvidia control panel -> I used 8x Vsync -> On or half from max framerate. in game Tilde key to open console and type : setmaxfps xxx (xxx) <- your own. For Stability, i used 60. too high FPS can cause micro stutter. in installation folder modify the config file Cfg.RenderDevice to 1 Cfg.FOV = 120 (Too high breaks the game) Cfg.FOVRun = 140 (Too high breaks the game)
