The exclamation that this might be "the greatest platformer ever" might sound arrogant at first, but there is most definitely truth to it. 4,340 unique handcrafted levels that can be completed within a 30 seconds, a minute, or two minutes with varying degrees of challenge, unique momentum-and-physics based platforming, and loads of customization. The only con I can think of is how the framerate is always locked to 60 and you don't get the increased smoothness of a high refresh rate display, however the game is smooth on it's own and this is easy to just ignore, and is fine on a Steam Deck, I'm sure. The controls are incredibly simple. Left, right, and jump, which is a hold input meaning the longer you hold, the higher you jump, and same goes for tapping. Movement left or right functions in a similar way. You have friction and momentum, walljumping, sliding down sloped surfaces, and all of it is under your control. There isn't anything but the forces of gravity controlling you. The look of the game is incredibly variable thanks to its visual design, you can apply any number of color schemes and it still works, some better than others though. Timeless visual design that will look good forever. I recommend going through the legacy levels first if you hadn't completed the original flash game. All of those levels are there, just in a scrambled order. It's not like the ordering of the levels matter much though. Overall I recommend. Even if you don't like platformers, at least give this a try. If you don't feel like buying it yet, you can download the original Flash release on the website, and get a feel for it there. I do recommend this version though as it has more features, more levels, more everything. Plus plus.

N++ is probably the best platformer ever made. The physics are very well-tuned, and feel fair and interesting even after hundreds of hours of gameplay The visuals are slick, understandable, and complement the minimalist design of the game. The music also acts as very nice background noise to the game and can be listened to for a very long time while zoning out to the game. But, the biggest selling point of the game is its level design. The game has thousands of levels, ranging from easy to almost impossible, and somehow, a supermajority of them are good (with each player probably disliking a few due to their preferences). They cause the game to be a constant stream of learning and improvement, until eventually you can do what previously took hours, in a matter of just a few attempts. They feature many different aspects: Routing, precision, improvisation, speed. The levels take the features of the game to their extremes, the game leaves no stone unturned, leading the final levels to be some of the most interesting levels i've ever played. Overall, it's a fantastic experience if you have any interest in platformers.

If you played the original, this one has taken everything that made it good and made it better. Also, most of the BG music is absolutely good. I'd love a release of the soundtrack and would buy.

One of the best games ever made. Total commitment to a very small set of gameplay mechanics, extrapolated over thousands of levels and hundreds of hours of gameplay. Unbelievable depth which it reveals at its own glacial pace. Utter rigour and precision in its design. The OST is divinely chosen. Feels like an artefact from a different, better world. You can play this title for the rest of your life, and I say that without hyperbole.

Difficulty: ( 10/10 ) Harder than Souls series. My fingers hurt. It's not your average platformer. Musics: ( 8.5/10 ) Better music than some rhtym games I've played. Gameplay: ( 11/10 ) ( The Final Boss ) Easily the smoothest mechanics ever. Makes Sekiro feel clunky. Content: ( 10/10 ) Is it even possible to finish? You'll need more than 500 hours just just for the base levels and there are custom mades and leaderboards and co-op... Graphics: ( 8/10 ) Simple and amazing. Would love to see some lines, shapes etc on background though. Other Positives: + Nostalgia + Community + Cool Colors + Cheap Negatives: - My index finger literally hurts and I'm kinda worried about it - None
