A great adaptation to a great board game. This version of the game is great as it is a game that I can never get to the table as much as I would like. This gives me the option to play it anytime.

This is a neutral recommendation. A bit tricky to pick up at first and pretty fun when you get it down (especially with all the expansion sets and new mechanics), but there's not a lot of variety in win conditions. Generally speaking, stacking growth asap is the only path I've noticed that consistently wins games. The game is also not up-to-date on Steam as there are several expansions that have been added to the physical game and not updated here. Fun for someone that likes board games or card drafts more than deck builders with progression.

Mystic Vale has been a favorite tabletop game of our gaming group for years. We currently own all the expansions. The digital version contains many of the positive aspects of the game, such as attractive graphics, interesting game play, and a variety of expansions to add. It also makes the logistical aspects, such as sleeving the cards, set up, and tear down, painless compared to the tabletop version. Adding card animation was a nice touch. That said, there are downsides to digital. First, you cannot choose to leave out cards you don't care for that will clog up the offerings on display during a game. This results in some games where there is nothing anyone wants to buy, but to clear space, you must. It also does not provide for leaving out certain options contained in an expansion, which we often do on tabletop. Because of this, we rarely play with the Mana Storm expansion. It would be helpful if excluding cards were possible, as in some other digital versions of games. Also, we are all disappointed that more of the expansions are not available here on Steam. They just stopped after Mana Storm and never released any more. Perhaps because Mana Storm was not as popular? I would really welcome the addition of more of the expansions, and options for card inclusion. Overall, Mystic Vale is a great game and we still really enjoy playing it online when we can't get together. For those who have never tried it, it's quite an interesting set of mechanics not often found elsewhere in Euros. Despite the downsides, I would recommend the game.

Purchased this game because I am a fan of deckbuilders - and this game is a "card crafter," which I'd never heard of before. Now it's a daily player for me. Endlessly re-playable due to the fact that you literally create most of your cards as you play by adding new sections to them from the available selection in the play area. There are a few things I found confusing, having played the video adaptation without ever playing the real -life table top version, so I bought the real game too. The tutorial explains the game play but doesn't explain all the symbols on the cards (specifically I could find no reference for the helmets) and all the scoring methods. There's probably a PDF online available somewhere but I collect board games anyway so now I have the real game and have introduced it to other people in my family. I like the theme and the art. The music isn't particularly evocative of druidry but it's suitable. This can be a "wake up" game or a "settle down for bed" game depending on your mood. Its' a quick play vs all AI opponents. There's much more thinking involved when you play with other humans. :) Overall, I recommend it to anyone who likes deck builder games.

So, this one isn't for me. It's a lovely deckbuilder with custom art and basically no plot but a loose themeing around ecological recovery. There's no campaign mode, so either you have people to play this thing with or it's solitaire. Mechanically, it feels very competently made. You build cards from draftable pieces, and use those cards to buy more cards from the bank. I'd happily own a physical version of this thing. Unfortunately, the thing I'm primarily interested in is campaign modes for card games. I'm not unhappy to have bought this, but I likely won't be playing more of it. If you like pvp deckbuilders and you've got some friends who do too, I'd definitely recommend giving this a look.
