A visual novel game that focuses on the elements of power struggles and family revenge more than love, there are quite a lot of fighting scenes so sometimes it causes a feeling of tension. Another point is that the names of the Chinese characters are quite difficult to remember. The female lead is not a weakling, can attack enemies, command, and lead the country like a man. Throughout the game, the female lead does not cry too much but is always strong and finds ways to solve problems. The male characters are all voiced so they are quite vivid. The visuals are beautiful, but quite economical. Many scenes are described with words instead of pictures so it is difficult to imagine, especially the battle scenes. There are not too many emotional scenes and emotional leads because most of the male characters are destined to meet the female lead, be impressed and fall in love with the female lead over a long time in the past. In the present tense scenes, the male characters have already fallen in love with the female lead. Overall, the game is quite meaningful when it comes to war and people in war, the struggle for power and grudges between clans, the love element is just an additional element and a reward for the female lead's resilient sacrifice.

Soooo, I spent 19 hours in the game, and still think I missed something - it's enormous for its price, and I love it! One thing you need to consider: the info-dump is relentless. I mean, I was ready for it, but still my head started to hurt by the end of it) Either way keeping all the info in the head is non-essential to choice-making. Thus, you can skip info-dumps without huge consequences (I did precisely that) The music & art are gorgeous! The story will keep you on your toes! I love all characters, but even more their stories! Yiguang is the exception) Love the character, but his route seems way too detached from the story (?) Like you will get more lore, but all major events will unfold without you (not the best trade-off) Goujian on the contrary has the most dramatic story with the most satisfying payoffs, but I loath men like him))) ZiXu's route was the most magical (surprisingly), and its actually alright despite the age difference And I just do not get why so many reviewers like Chen Feng 0-0 I found his story to be the most boring, not to mention he's practically baby-man (ugh), despite being second oldest among LIs Either way, I definitely recommend it!

I'm not really familiar with chinese games, so this was a bit of a strange experience for me in comparison to english or japanese VNs, but it was interesting although i personally wouldn't do it again because the writing style doesn't really do it for me. I would recommend people to give it a shot. the storyline was honestly captivating and i was really invested in the game.

Pros and Cons for the game : Pros : It is not as expensive as other Otome, but the OSTs are sublime, and the game is fully voiced which is rare enough to be mentionned for the price. The characters design is great, and you'll be granted with some little fx and sound fx as well for a more immersive experience for a visual novel. And the MC is a strong female character, which is great instead of the fragile, naive ones we can find in so many games of this genre. Cons : It is a very complex political story, which take a huge place of the story, I liked it, don't mind me, it reminded me of Dynasty Warrior 5 on PS2 somehow, without the fight phase, maybe the nostalgia is speaking here, but in the end, so few space for the main character and a romance. Some characters don't even have the chance to have a kiss CG. And so few blushy sprites :( Also, the end with the antagonist feels rushed in every route, he is there and pouf he is gone. The epilogue, either for good nor bad ending could have been a bit longer. As for the route themselves, they all follow the same red line, wich is bit sad as well, I would have loved total different story to discover for each protagonist, but that's still a great story in the end. Last but not least : If you are a success chaser like me, then you might encounter some difficulties with one in particular, I even followed a community guide, but it's still locked :( All in all, I still recommend it, as it has still long chapters, so of course : a long game play to enjoy with some tears jerker from time to time

This game has gorgeous art and compelling, well-written characters with distinct personalities and storylines, and a complex, refreshingly competent main character. Set in pseudo-historical China, the story is rich with both political intrigue and mythical beasts. Each branch of the storyline diverges into something unique and interesting in a way that anyone who has read a lot of visual novels is likely to appreciate.
