This... The story... I can't. This is the first time I just can't write a proper review. The best thing I can say is to get and play the game and see for yourself. Don't buy, play or see videos about it if you've been abused though, this game is... I'd highly reccomend it to anyone willing to play a game with extremely sensitive topics.

Finished the game in one sitting. It was a moving experience that actually made me feel like a real mother to this poor pile of pixels. Would recomend for a good cry.

This is honestly a brilliant and deeply impactful way to teach about the experiences of Lebensborn children after WWII. I shed many tears while playing this game, and at one point even cried out loud in devastation.

I played it on iPhone a couple years ago and decided to try again. The graphic may suggest relaxing but this is a heavy game. It's a life simulation of what happens when you adopt a German kid in Sweden after WWII. Prepare to see bullying, discrimination and all kinds of malevolence for a little boy/girl who has literally done nothing wrong. I'm not here to judge, just take whatever content the devs added. Some events are annoying including Klaus getting beaten up, others are more disturbing like being abducted and being peed on. It's a depressing game because what you can do is extremely limited, being an only parent your life is threatened and few would help. There are good people like one of the teachers protecting Klaus at school but eventually, the devs deliver an obvious idea that the only way for a Lebensborn child to survive is to return to Germany. For the UI, the control and button settings are made from a phone game, mostly you do trifles including go to work/make food/clean the kid and repeat, I strongly suggest devs reduce those uninteresting days. you can pick a girl/boy to start the game so there are some replay values, but I reckon gameplay remains mostly the same. What's more, this game has some educational purpose by giving facts and reflects the life of a minority after WWII. I can only wish peace stays longer. I just finished playing this game, and I became overly attached to my virtual children, Karin and Klause. They are the most precious virtual kids I've ever had. This game has shredded my heart into pieces. It has a simple gameplay mechanics like playing Tamagotchi but with a heavy and emotionally well-told story. After reaching the end of the game, all I wanted to do was give a big hug to these kids. I knew a bit about the Lebensborn Program but I've never known the whole extent of it. Thank you for making me more aware about our history, and thank you for this well-crafted game! Looking forward to My Child New Beginnings ♥
