What a fun game, improving on a new genre of video game. To keep it brief: It makes the ship (submarine) gameplay much more fun, needing to navigate the ocean with sonar and collect, avoid, or attack sonar targets. The maps are a big win, decrepit research labs mixed with caves and reefs The loot fits the evil-corporation theme, and a recent update improved some of the loot, like animating body bags twitching around, lol The sheer amount of 'interior' room variety, especially with the new Atlantis drop. All enemies in the game have a counter-play, it's not just 'run or be instakilled' like the norm. Active devs adding an easier lobby/ship for smaller crews, and also native support for up to 8 players (in a more challenging submarine to maneuver, trust me it's worth the ensuing chaos) Definitely worth it for the cost, it's had a surprising amount of content added since this summer

This game is fantastic! Simply a fantastic value for its price, an amazing game that falls into the "scrap collection horror" genre that Lethal Company has pioneered. Shoutout to Zeekers. However, by describing Murky DIvers as simply "underwater Lethal Company" does not quite do justice to the devs at Embers and the publishers at Oro Interactive. Murky Divers takes the genre at its core, and invents brand new ways for players to feel like an integral part in their crew's survival. From more nuanced navigation to clear player choices to make in the form of which aspects of the ship to upgrade, which suit mods should be purchased, to how much floating scrap you'd like to pick up before diving at your next Pharma Corp. experimentation site. The game has a simple and wonderfully addictive gameplay loop. You are tasked with diving deeper and deeper, finding and shredding any signs of failed experiments or signs of life in the form of body parts or plant matter. The devs have created a hauntingly addictive environment where the players are engaged and working hard to survive. The stakes have never felt higher. This game, to me, will continue to succeed and flourish with the wonderful minds at Embers behind it. We have already seen one major content update and I have a feeling the devs will continue to surprise and treat their players. With new diving sites, suits, upgrades, monsters, and loot, I have zero doubts that this wonderfully talented team has a treasure trove of new content for us to enjoy. This game is a treat and one that I implore you to try! In fact, let's play together if you do. B) Pixelet

As an enjoyer of both Barotrauma and Lethal Company, let me say that Murky Divers hits a sweet spot that makes it distinct. Yes it's easy to call it a L.C. clone or spin-off at a glance, but that would be incorrect. Particularly in that Lethal Company ultimately and inevitable leads to an unachievable goal/quota, and so all game sessions indefinitely conclude no matter what. Not the case with Murky Divers, in which your crew and your run persist for as long as your skills and luck carry you. Once you have mastered the game cycle and fundamental mechanics, you can feasibly stay in the "shallow" depths to prepare yourself for the deeper and more dangerous adventures. What's nice is that the game gives you agency in your fate, there's nothing heavy-handed, and your demise will ultimately be from your own decisions and abilities. The game's art/graphic style is also intentional and integral to the gameplay in a great way: is that glint of reflection at the other corner of the dark room a piece of evidence to recover, or is it the eyes of a hungry sea beast? The only way to know is to dive through the murk into perils unknown. Bring a friend, preferably one who swims slightly slower or is a little less aware. The dev is incredibly active with the game, very receptive to *constructive* feedback, and has realistic short and long-term development targets. It's incredibly fun as it is, and I've had nights of accidentally losing track of time and playing until 3AM. It's a solid, hilarious, perilous game, and is an absolute f#@king steal for its current price.

Game is NOT a lethal company ripoff, its got its own taste and twist on things. It has its own unique way of separating the players and how disorientating the areas are to navigate. Also, the ship part is a little annoying, but I do like the fact that it uses teamwork and that its also possible even with one person if you are skilled enough. Overall Rating: 9/10
