Slightly edited and updated from time to time* Alright. So this is a nice little tank game with a hilarious turret-swapping mechanic and some anime elements. I'd say it's a neat little game and I like it a lot. It's currently in early access. The developer is active and updates regularly. Even better those updates are actually influenced by the community (so it's not just the so common "give me money now so I can finish the game"). The base of the game is solid and it's still worked on but I do have a lot of criticism and suggestions, partially because I know the game is still developed. There are four areas I'd like to touch: 1) what is here, 2) what is missing/should change, 3) the anime aspect, 4) current development. 1) The basic mechanics are really solid. I haven't encountered any major bug (lately allies do sometimes just stop and don't react to orders...), crashes, or anything like that. The gameplay is enjoyable and there is a nice casual degree of strategy concerning different tanks, turrets, and upgrades. You can be a long-ranged artillery, a close-ranged fortress, agile sniper, and much more. And each of those has to approach various situations differently. New features are being added once in a while. 2) Developer frequently adds new vehicles and features. At first I was worried because they want to hold frequent community votes on new vehicles added, While I appreciate the engagement I was worried the game would die of "dev keeps adding meaningless vehicles while ignoring everything else". Luckily I was proven wrong. I am excited to see where this goes. 3) There's this Girls und Panzer vibe. Men like vehicles. Men like guns. Men like women. Put women and guns onto vehicles and you got profit. There's a vague school theme going on. And some of the girls have hints of "typically anime" quirky personalities. Nothing is done with this. The girls have no interaction (they might get mentioned or described by another girl but that's it). The school theme is also just left there and it's bare bones. It'd be great if the battles were described as a championship between schools or something (currently you just fight "the enemy" because of "reasons" I guess). You could have the girls banter, comment on your choice of tanks and weapons, gain different bonuses by adjusting schedule or paying more attention to one or another (they are just linear research paths right now). You could introduce rival schools and girls and have them banter too. Multiple teams battling each other at the same time. Tournament brackets. Something. Currently literally nothing is done with the theme asides from several cute PNGs and a few funny messages. 4) The dev seems to be enjoying working on the game and interacting with the community. That's great. They seem to be also very enthusiastic about tanks. That is both game's biggest strength and weakness. +There's a large roster of various vehicles and the game's core features such as armor, crew, range etc. work incredibly well for the most part (some deaths can feel really cheap or unavoidable). -Adding new vehicles makes a significant portion of work. There's so many tanks a lot of them don't even have English description... I am not a tank nut so I do not care if all bazillion versions of MyPPIsSteelHard Mk.2 or the super heavy Yo-Mama tanks are present. From my rather casual view there's little difference between a lot of them. Some are quirky, some are OP, some are pain. But a lot of them are basically the same thing with different paint and slightly different hitbox. Might be historically accurate but I'd say at least 50 % of them make very little impact on the game and aside from tank nerds no one would miss them. The game still needs UI, mechanics, maps... features ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING else besides more tanks would currently benefit the game more. PS: Sd.Kfz. 2 is love. Sd.Kfz. 2 is life. Also Karl. They see me crusin' they hatin'. And pt M12 gun on it! Actually put M12, Maus, or Churchill bunker-buster on everything and watch the world burn!

This plays vaguely like some sort of fever dream one would have after binge-watching Girls und Panzer at 3 AM and passing out on the couch. It's perfect.

Fun as heck and absolutely worth it. I just wish the "campaign" (not sure what to call it) was a bit longer or a game mode that allows it to be longer. I just want to drive around in my kettenkrad with a flak gun on the back, and do it for longer without restarting.

You might say that the anime-styled character design combined with WWII tanks reveals the Girls und Panzer DNA behind this game, but really it's that you can stack speed upgrades until you make a BT-42 drive at 89kph

Ladies and gentlemen, we got it. This game is simply brilliant. You have PLENTY of the vehicle options, you can upgrade your tank, hire crews and then play hit and run stylized battles. The game is simple, fun and addictive. Its been a long time since I played something so good as this. If you like tanks, then its a must have game. 100/10.
