A Chilling Thriller with A Killer on the Loose! It’s been a while since I last played a hidden object adventure game, so it felt like the right time to play another. This time, I picked one that was okay when I played it a few years ago. In Mountain Crime: Requital , a doctor named Philip White has been called to come to the White Wolf Hotel to tend to a patient. But, a rock slide collapses the only way in or out of the resort, so you become trapped. Moments after entering the hotel, a man is found bitten by a snake. Throughout your stay, more bodies keep showing up of the guests. A killer is on the loose and must be stopped! How are you involved in this mystery, and can you find the killer in time before you become a victim yourself? I want to start this review with the positives about this game. Firstly, the graphics are very well done, like many other HOA games. Seeing more 3D character models was a good and interesting choice. Another aspect I liked was that there was voice acting, and it wasn’t that bad. The music and sound design were also really good. Furthermore, I really enjoyed the whodunit-style story; it reminded me of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None or even Clue . If you want a decent-length experience, this is for you, as the game should take you almost five hours to complete. Overall, the hidden object scenes aren’t too complicated, and neither are the puzzles. However, one puzzle that did take some time to figure out was Katherine’s locket with the different colored jewels. The only real problem I had with this game was its ending. It does make sense, and it doesn’t just come out of nowhere, but I feel it ends with no satisfying conclusion. Some spoilers, but it turns out the killer is a twin brother of yours you never knew about who killed all the other guests and wants revenge. You got to live an everyday, great life. In contrast, he didn’t, being sick a lot growing up, living in an orphanage, and losing a sister to a horrible fire. He puts you through a game of cat and mouse and frames you in the end, leading to your arrest. Then, it abruptly ends. I really think a game like this could benefit from a sequel, but as far as I can tell, that won’t happen anytime soon. This game isn’t bad; it is a good HOA game with an engaging story, intriguing setting and characters, and an excellent mystery. Even with that ending, I would still recommend it. 3 out of 5 ★★★☆☆!

You could tell the characters hit the gym to get in the daily grind, I applaud their dedication. Anyhow the hotel had a lot of building code violations, but the ending twist was good and the hidden object scenes were simple.

Easy puzzles. Easy HO scenes. Searching for the same objects we had, but "lost" on the way. Dumb ending. No sequel. Good for killing some time. Between thumb up and down.
