Re...vi..ew...of...MOTHERED... - A Role-Pl....ayyying Horror Game H̶͌̚E̶̅̚͠L̔̒̊P̎͂̆̕ Pardon—where was I? Ah, yes, MOTHERED! A game that feels like it was handcrafted with love, glitch, and the occasional existential crisis. You are Liana (or maybe you are not, but the game says you are, so let’s trust it), returning home to your beloved "Mother." Yes, Mother, who is there, waiting, watching, rotating occasionally. A perfectly normal mother figure who definitely isn’t hiding anything. :) Right? The atmosphere is...very yes. It makes your brain feel like it’s gently unraveling while wrapped in a soft, glitchy blanket. MOTHERED’s world is a magical place where objects may or may not load properly, characters might float (sometimes through doors), and time itself? Time is...how do you say...optional. You’ll find yourself doing very important things, like walking into a kitchen only to discover that the kitchen...is gone now. Ha-ha! What fun! And the controls! They’re smooth like butter
if the butter was occasionally melting into the void. But do not panic! You’re still in control. Mostly. I think. Just embrace the occasional
j-j-j-jitter. It’s part of the experience, and you will find yourself wondering: Am I walking sideways? Or is the world shifting under my feet? Your "Mother"—oh, bless her—is an absolute delight. Her soothing, repetitive voice will be your guide as she tells you things like "Go to bed now," or "Liana, eat your food." Sometimes she says these things while staring directly at you, through walls, through floors...through... you. But that's okay! It's just her way of showing love. A little glitchy love! :') The graphics are so... so very good. I must tell you, I’ve never seen a sky disappear quite like that before. You will marvel at the beauty of half-loaded textures and objects suspended in time, waiting for you to interact with them. It’s like living in a modern art piece, where every step is a new surprise. And when things flicker in and out of existence? Oh, what a joyful reminder that nothing in this world is permanent! Nothing at all! Nothing is real! Sound design! Imagine: The sweet, subtle hum of silence, mixed with the occasional burst of static or footstep that may or may not belong to you. Sometimes you’ll hear whispers. Sometimes... you won’t. Just keep playing! It’s fine. It's fine. Right? And oh, the story! Liana’s journey unfolds like a book with missing pages. But that’s the point, of course! You’ll experience deep, meaningful moments of contemplation when your character glitches through a door or falls into the endless abyss beneath the house. Is it a bug, or is it...a metaphor? You decide! Or maybe the game decides for you! Does it matter anymore? It’s all so beautiful and unclear, like a scrambled dream. So, in conclusion, MOTHERED is a game that will...game. It will embrace you in its warm, glitch-filled arms, and whisper sweet, distorted nothings into your ear. You’ll question reality, you’ll question your choices, and most importantly, you’ll question whether this game is supposed to work like this. But don’t worry! That’s just part of the charm. :) Rating: ☐☑☐☑☐/10 - An experience that defies...description? SYSTEM ERROR DETECTED. PLEASE RESTART REALITY.

this is a masterclass in psychological horror. never in my life have i been jumpscared by someone standing perfectly still. it happened multiple times across multiple playthroughs just because the atmosphere is so engaging. so many horror games go too hard on the darkness, but here it feels so intentional and purposeful. the story is terrifying too, especially with how its presented. really recommend the whole enigma pentology

i am probably biased because this is my favorite game so take my review with a little grain of salt but this is a WONDERFUL game. the story is wonderful, how the developer executes said story is wonderful, IT IS JUST WONDER!!!!! i've heard people say the gameplay is stale/boring, but it's difficult to describe... in the context of the story, the gameplay is fitting and it's good at what it intends to do. people criticize it for the troublesome loop gameplay but in the context of the story, that's kind of the point, so i didn't mind. it's a short game comprising of about 1.5-2 hours each run, but in order to uncover all of the secrets and fully understand the story, i think you have to play it three times. i guess if you're impatient don't play this game? for ME, it was worth every penny. the music is great at setting the mood and this developer is very good at playing with the environment. overall it's beautiful and unsettling. makes you feel uneasy. if you often find yourself emotionally invested in games because of the characters and how they treat you/how they feel i think this game is something worth experiencing. somebody else in the reviews said the apple orchard part was a hassle and honestly it kind of is but I DON'T CARE!!!! it's really not that bad, it takes a couple minutes tops. i would kiss this game on the lips. sorry
