Yes. This is how you remaster a 3DS game and rescue it from being stranded. Now we need Atlus and Level 5 to do this as well as Capcom is. Beware the long and meh intro. The real game begins when you depart the first village.

Definitely some fun, at least in my opinion. Ages ago I got it imported along with a 3ds from Japan, playing it because I never thought it would come to the west. I didn't expect is the port over to western 3ds systems, later phones iPhone and Android and now finally the version 1.3 release, reserved only for japan 3DS is here on steam, so you can get things like Teostra and Kushala Daora in your team and also now it's up-scaled with new voices and content never seen in the west. The port also seems to run really quite good. As a game it was interesting to see and appreciate the monster part of monhun as much as the hunter part. and for that i'm kinda grateful to have a game that you could collect and have mons fight on your side for a change. Now it's a more cartoony version of the series, and being the first game it's not so refined as Stories 2, the major critiques of the time cited the chibi/squished look of the charas and monsters, so you'll need to perhaps look past that a little As for general content and my thought on the series side rant, a lot was reconnected in the second game from this one, especially the content that came with the anime along with some of the character depth and explanation for motives Some of the cut content was from the anime published on crunchy roll for western audiences but also had an exclusive second arc/season "ebon riders" with at least 20+ more episodes following not aired in the west due to copyright, this involved Cheval, Anivia's brother, Gale which we never hear from again, and missing entirely from Stories 2, so the bigger picture is a bit all over the place.. I would definitely recommend playing this one though, I'd say it's a bit easier to get into and the combat and mechanics are much more simplified than the second game, of course being the first one, it's not perfect but it's totally worth having a play

This game, it was my first MH game ever, i remember how i struggled and did not understood half of the stuff cause i didnt know the language 7 years ago, hahaha. I loved it, 100+ hours on my poor old 3ds speak for themselves. If ya played it before, replay it, remember good old days (P.s. Good for kids 10+ cause involves reading on a good level)
