Easily my favorite monster-catching game. The monstie variety is absolutely incredible, the art style is an absolute beauty, and the story is also pretty cool. Recommended for all Monster-catching game fans.

my only complaint is that the story ended to soon. this was honestly everything i would have wanted as a part 2 to this game. the graphics were beautiful yet still held true to the original- and continued the story in a familiar way while still being new and exciting. also cheval is back. i really cant complain- i missed my favorite boy.

I love pokemon and monster hunter. This is the reeses peanut butter cup of those things. If you want the reverse then go for pokemon legends arceus. It's the uh oh oreo of this game.

I'm not a Monster Hunter player. I have no skill in that genre, the games do not appeal to me, and I'm not good with hand-based mobility and quick time or real time events. I am, as some would say, not the main demographic for a Monster Hunter game. I do however like creature collectors. They're a bit of a guilty pleasure. Monster Hunter Stories - both games - are really, really good if you're anything like me. It offers all of the fun of the first game with a smaller audience, but everyone I've played with over the internet was particularly nice, even if we couldn't really talk. The game is just.. nice. You can grind at your own pace and there's postgame content. The DLCs don't really do anything other then offer you customization, so it's really just.. free to play. The controls aren't bad and there's a lot of individual customizability. MHS2 can be played effectively as a standalone, but I'd encourage you to get the first one too (especially since it just got a remaster for Steam and a port.) If you don't, that's fine, because I didn't really think about the first one all too much either. It's just a nice little game with a lot to offer and none of the pressure that comes with the mainline games. If you've read this far, I hope this review offers you something of worth. If you buy the game, I hope we can meet online - I love helping people complete the postgame content :]
