The game mechanic is stunning and very unique, amazing to look at. I also really enjoyed the little details in the game like when you look through the beer glass and see all these weapons in the bar I also really liked how the different sides of the cube connected and made a story. Even though I didn't really care for the story, it did give the game more dimension. But I do have to say that sometimes there were too many places to zoom in on, creating way too many possibilities. I had to use hints often because it caused too much frustration, and that took the fun out of the game for me.

A beautiful puzzle game taking place in different scenes in the sides of a cube where the player has to line up different objects until they look connected between the scenes, causing some change to occur. There are plenty of puzzles that felt pretty easy to solve and plenty that made me scratch my head a bit and spin around the cube multiple times. Thankfully, there is a hint system in the game that seems to only be based on time, so you have a lot of time to try to solve the puzzles without being tempted to get a hint for something you could have solved with a little more thinking. The art style is beautiful and the game tells a story without words that mostly depends on the number of pictures you find throughout the game and put in your album. The story went in places I didn't expect and honestly made me tear up a bit at the end and I felt that I managed to get a good grip on what was going on both without words and without having found every single picture. The soundtrack was at times quietly minimalist and at times building up with the story beats and it could be quite sorrowful and beautiful. A truly enjoyable experience with depth beyond its face.

I really enjoyed Moncage! I would recommend it if you like puzzle games, with a recommendation multiplier depending on if you like or don't like puzzles that lean more towards observation and visual lateral thinking. Moncage had a very similar vibe to Gorogoa. If you liked Gorogoa then I think you would like Moncage. Mechanically the game consists of figuring out how to match up elements of different scenes visually. This is a 3D game and so you can rotate the perspective view any way that you want, and your task is to find a way to position the viewpoint such that two different things match up. Early in the game this is all that you do, and making a successful match triggers some event that allows you to find the next match. As the game progresses so does the complexity, but the focus is always on "how can I make two different scenes interact?" Not only did I love this as a mechanic, but I thought the game did a good job of utilizing the core idea in many different creative ways. It's a relatively short game (Steam says I played 3 hours), but it felt like exactly the right length to me.

It took me far too long to finish this the first time. Stunning visuals, story, and soundtrack! Loved replaying for collectables/achievements and seeing how seamlessly the puzzles can actually be solved :))

A nice game! What it contains: [*]A box that's not only giving you puzzles, but conveying a particular story in a visual way [*]A lot of complex and witty object interactions. In order to find them you have to really think out-of-the-box and apply your brain muscles. [*]Many cute objects and tiny puzzles. The first play-through is quite short. I've played the game only once and finished it in <2 hrs with no hints, but I'm not going to refund it, for I enjoyed it immensely.
