I've played some games from Chilla's Art (Convinient Store & The Ghost Train), and I can say that the atmosphere of the games are perfect. (Sometimes reminds me of playing Silent Hill 2.) The games are short, perfect for playing after a busy day.

I've always dug the Chill's Art game library, but never really explored it beynd a random title of a friend's "Summer of J-Horror" stream (check out Brancifur on ttv). Saw this entry on sale and, along with some other games I had on my wishlist, picked it up to play one night. Like some of those others I bought, it sat in the library, and I regret not getting to it sooner. Missing Children isn't the most horrific entry. In fact it's more a suspense title than anything aside one bit of paranormal activity in both good and bad playthroughs, and again at the end of the latter route. It was a nice, short, chill little find the missing kids story that plays out well enough to keep you wondering what happened to the tree, The only gripe is some spots can be a bit too dark, but those are few and far between. I finished both playthroughs in a single sitting, so maybe about an hour or a little longer. I don't regret the purchase. In fact I kicked myself for not playing fast like I said earlier in this review. If you dig a good police story with a retro horror aesthetic, Missing Children is worth giving a shot.

♱♡ Worth Your Time ♡♱ ✮ Gameplay ✮ It leans heavily into the walking simulator genre, but it manages to keep you engaged throughout. ✮ Story ✮ You collaborate with the police to locate missing children, visiting their homes, investigating their surroundings, and talking to their parents. Both endings are impactful, though one is particularly sad. The story is good, and my only wish is that it didn't end so abruptly and soon. ✮ Negatives ✮ The game is short, and the dialogue translations can sometimes be a bit off, which can momentarily pull you out of the immersion. ✮ Overall ✮ "Missing Children" is a short but compelling game with a strong story and great atmosphere. Despite its occasional translation issues, it is definitely worth playing, especially for fans of Chilla's Art games. The game is affordable and delivers a good experience. ⁺₊✧7.5/10 ✧₊⁺

I will start off by saying I'm a huge fan of Chilla's Art and their entire library of games, but this one is definitely a weaker of the selection. I did enjoy the overall creepiness of each location you visit and the unsettling, uncanny NPCs you talk to. I was a bit lost overall in progression of the story for a good half an hour (you'll probably know why when you get to that point). All in all not a bad 90min experience, but there are definitely better titles to enjoy from the developers. Also, I will never look at a dog the same way again...
