I don’t usually like abstract trauma pieces, but this game does a great job of showing the struggle between rational and irrational thought when struggling to be a functional human being. I’d have a hard time recommending this to someone I know, but Bag of Milk feels instantly memorable.

The game takes place inside the mind of a girl who is struggling to face the challenges of everyday life. You are essentially her voice of reason, guiding the traumatized girl towards her goal of... well, buying milk as the name of the game suggests. It is a short, but thought provoking story of how a person with PTSD or schizophrenia might see the world around them. The visuals and the soundtrack are bizarre and indiscernible from one another, which is indicative of the mental state that the protagonist currently finds herself in. The dialogue choices do matter, as being unfriendly ultimately ends with the girl repressing you (her imaginary friend) after which the game starts from the very beginning. It is an interesting and unique concept. The game is rather cheap so I would recommend grabbing it should you decide to try something less mainstream.

I've been diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder and i have found myself strongly relating to certain patterns and forms of though processing. But most importantly: the feelings of it. The frightening feeling of being detached from reality finding yourself in a deep spiral of thoughts creating an alternative invisible space in which you dwell and try to figure out how to deal with it and what to think of that and what it could mean to me. A feeling of being exposed to the neurosis triggers in your head that makes you enter a loop of never ending thoughts arguing and defending yourself. A feeling of loosing it from swiftly glimpsing on a though that scares you by being endlessly convoluted and also holding an emotion that causes feeling depressive or\and anxious. A feeling of trying to establish a relation with something bigger than you. A feeling of realizing that your day-to-day experience is artificial dense and tense narrative made inside your head. A feeling of healing empathy that i felt toward the girl helps me calibrate myself to feel a love beam both from myself and from universe.
