Simple, but fun. It's a diablo-isc game, but with cute puppies. It can feel a bit hollow as it feels like they could have expanded on a bit more things (map, co-op, a little more on "crafting" weapons) but otherwise a fun game to chill to. I hope that there'll be a second that expands on the idea that def has co-op mode.

Eh. Well... do you like what you see in the trailer? If so, get it. It's as advertised. Like, You get exactly what's in the trailer and absolutely nothing else. It feels very barebones even by the last game in metal max series' standards, but it's still a fun little timekiller. It works like this: you pick up a quest, objectives are listed. 3 small "dungeon like" areas, sometimes there's one boss. When you clear the objetive, a teleporter to base opens. The english feels like a 1:1 direct translation from japanese. It's understandable, but a bit wonky. (E.g. "stop suddenly!" Instead of immediately or something like that.-it's truly nothing unreadable, but does feel unnatural) It's also listed as hack n slash, but I would categorize it as top down shooter. What I meant with very barebones game even by recent metal max games standards: no enemy database to view/read about, no color customization, or at least so far (I will edit this out*** if it ever appears later in game, but its been a little while...) You do unlock new dogs, though. i appreciate that the dog's weapons, armors and collars change and it's not all just a default model, but that's also about that. You can fight WANTEDs over and over and farm money as much as you'd like. There's a synthesis system to upgrade your weapons but upgrades/downgrades are random, so it... doesn't feel very nice honestly. Farming materials and cash to dump on a downgrade is kinda sad, but I guess you could reload if you really care about it? I do love Metal Max but I hate the barren, post apocalyptic edgy route the series is taking. This somehow still feels better than playing Xeno or reborn, even though I still feel like it Lacks a little bit of a more lighthearted/joke-y like tone like the older games... ***I've now finished the game and yeah, my opinion is the same. There aren't many enemies, no transmog/dress-up or anything.

I think the first thing to do before you play this is to go to the settings and turn down the sound effect volume (its maxed by default). The first Wantedâ„¢ enemy is a flower (?) that shoots out explosive orbs and spawns smaller versions of itself, and between it and all the pew pew sounds you make you can barely hear the excellent boss music (Wanted Anonymous, a version of the Wanted track they've been using ever since Metal Max 1 'cause if they nailed it the first time why reinvent the wheel). good boys/10 would give a shiba inu a sombero again

I got this solely because attaching a gun to a dog looked funny. It's an alright game, but gets a bit repetitive after the three hour mark. The new weapons and enemies doesn't bring much to the table. Still, worth buying from sale if you want not too complicated action to play while listening to podcasts or such. The game has a few good tracks though, so it would be a shame to not hear them.
