the game was great a few months ago but bordering on unplayable at the moment. frequent movement key locks is causing the player character to move to one direction and unable to traverse the stage. in tour mode, this situation becomes unbearable.

I like the game, but right now there's an issue with it being always online. They say it has an offline mode, but even when playing that I'll get a "connecting to server" popup that never resolves, meaning I lose all progress on a run. If they fix that issue, I'll change the review to positive. Edit- they fixed that

In summary, it s like Hades (instead of having different weapons, you have different characters), but after beating the final boss there is no reason to play anymore. Is it worth your money? It s for you to decide. --- My experience I dont know if I want to recommend it (I have 40h+ on the demo). I liked the beginning. You can get at least 30h of fun. Even more with co-op, which was a blast. But if you start to like the early gameplay, you might play it more. And the more the game unlocks, the less it offers. It spirals down. And you might start to get frustrated and hate it. I know I did. Past 40h, I grinded for 25h to unlock the full early-access game (with the only character I had fun playing at high difficulty). Then I tried to play something different, experiment a bit. I tried to keep it fresh after beating the game at the hardest difficulty. After hitting the wall a few too many times, I Alt+F4 and I uninstalled. I feel better now. With this warning in mind, maybe you'll be able to keep it fresh and stop before it turns bad for you. Whether it s after 40h, 100h, or by not playing it at all. --- Some details It s a lot of small things: - More equipment doesnt change the gameplay much. It s mostly a stat boost. - The grind is on "Asian difficulty" for now. You got the spend hours just to maxed one equipment (out of 6 you can equip). And there are 60+ epic and 40+ legendary equipment. Getting them is random and they work in sets, of course. - During runs, once you got the few good upgrades, the other feels really weak (like 50% less effective). But you need more of them to combine upgrades into Fusions. And again, some Fusion are good and some are weaker. So it s kind of always revolving around the same few builds. - There are no builds around Dashes. - Bosses are more inconvenient than fun (big HP, lots of extras, amazing tracking when swinging, half-map range attacks, and sometimes multi-strike attacks...). It s difficult, but not rewarding enough to be fun. --- The last nail in the coffin My last fight, before I uninstalled, I was fighting a weak boss, but I had to wait 30 sec before comboing and barely scratch it (and 4 out my 6 equipment were maxed). An extra had fired a projectile that was following me, so I had to run and wait for it to expire. Then a random effect appeared on the map (big damaging area of effect), and the boss was camping in it (without taking dmg of course). Then when I finally got close, the boss started his 3-attack combo. So I had to dodge all of them. Finally the opportunity arrived, I was able to hit it and remove 75% of his armor and 30% of his health bar. The boss had 4 health bars, and when it fully loses its armor, it comes back after a few seconds. Also, I made a mistake and got hit by its strongest attack (multi-strike with map-size range), and lost 50% of my hp. That s not rewarding difficulty to me.

Don't be fooled by the current "mixed" rating . It's people from China and Australia complaining about servers. I saw one valid complaint and it's the ability to disable Aim Assist. A lot of fun! Very sharp and responsive combats with tons of customizability. I played Co-op with my friend in the Nederlands and myself being in Canada (QC - East coast) and we had no issues. Would strongly recommend!.

Great design - characters, enemies, bosses, stages, graphics, sound effects; all very cool. The gameplay is very addictive - random in-game drops and gear grinding can make you OP if you get the combos right. 4 characters (so far) with unique play styles, which is great for playing both solo and co-op. Difficulty ramp is great; lots of different ways to make the game harder/easier with equipment, challenge modes and speedrun/leaderboard events.
