I was expecting a cute visual novel, but then I read the comments and thought, 'Man, does this really happen?' I guessed the game might have some gruesome endings, but I hoped to get the good ending on my first try... Oh boy, how wrong I was. No amount of dark fantasy or Aztec history could have prepared me for the sheer violence and brutality I would witness.

It's not so much a question that asks what God is—whether it’s a substance, an energy, or a being. Instead, this question almost begs us to look directly into the darkest parts of ourselves, to confront the vile shadow that might live within us. The Indonesian riots of 1998—their horrific violence, their relentless tearing of communities, the nauseating pleasure taken in destruction—force us to ask whether there is a godlike rot festering in each of us. Perhaps this vile God is not an external force at all, but a corrosive, driving hunger rooted deep within us, stirring us to acts of unthinkable brutality and perverse satisfaction. Or perhaps it is worse still: maybe we do not hold this corrupt deity within ourselves, but rather, we exist within it. Imagine we are mere parasites lodged within the decaying corpse of a dead God—a being that once might have been glorious but now rots in cosmic silence, its body stretching on and on, becoming the very substance of the universe. And if this universe is nothing but a carcass—like the sickly sweet rot of an overripe palm tree fruit, filled with both life and decay—then our acts of violence and desperation are not anomalies but symptoms of the greater rot we inhabit. The riots, the blood, the flames—they are simply part of the fabric of this world, threads in the tapestry of a reality that is itself decomposing, teeming with the remnants of a godly corpse. This vision is almost too terrible to contemplate, yet it rings with a dark resonance. The rage and terror that gripped Jakarta those days were not isolated evils, but rather echoes of a greater indifference, a cosmic decay indifferent to human suffering. And so, if we seek a god, we must understand that it may be one whose flesh has long since died, whose divinity is spent, and we are left clinging to its remnants, forced to make meaning in a world that is rotting from the inside out.
