Twelve years ago, I bought and finished Mark of the Ninja: what a great game! Then it was remastered in 2018 with achievements and all that good stuff. But I did not feel like replaying it again... until recently when playing Gunpoint (another oldies) reminds me of Mark of the Ninja. And I was not disappointed: when you can play a game, 12 years later, with the same lever of fun, pleasure and satisfaction, you know this is a great game! And Mark of the Ninja is among these few.

In terms of pure gameplay it’s a complete experience that takes everything that’s best in the genre. A hellishly good stealth game. Samurai Ninja Jack. Not as hard as it looks until going for the challenges. Great use of lighting, a steady flow of mechanics and multiple approaches to any area. Doesn't put a foot wrong.

This game is a rare and underrated gem. An incredibly well-crafted stealth game that elevates the genre in the same way MGS did all those years ago. And I also appreciate a game that doesn't waste time. It takes about 60 seconds from first launching the game until you're getting stuck into stealthy ninja gameplay. Very fun and rewarding. And for those who enjoy challenge running, this game offers plenty of scope to refine and master your strategy for each level until you can breeze through without killing any enemies or triggering any alarms. 9/10. Would recommend this to everyone - not just stealth game enthusiasts.
