It is a first person walking simulator adventure game. You run long distances between places to click highlighted objects and do light puzzles. It is also a comedy game, and as such, as always, it's never funny in the slightest. The most prominent thing about the game is the corn with a face on its storepage. But the in-game corn looks much worse and is just stupid. Being so easy and short it doesn't overstay its welcome and you are rarely stuck with no idea what moon logic to do next. Corn is constantly cuts you off from backtracking, and the game tells you where to go in plain text. The bear has a terrible fake accent and i have no idea what it says in any of the languages. You can't rebind the keys. There's no jumping, and [Spacebar] is used for collectibles instead. Crouching is on [C]. https://www.pcgamer.com/anyone-who-uses-the-c-key-to-crouch-is-a-hopeless-degenerate/ It's a waste of time. So if you need some of your time wasted — might as well. Such things need something like a Quake 3 engine, so people would diagonally rhythm jump through them, and you could watch some cool speedruns.

What is this stupid thing? This place is one big joke. Well, Vladdy is not laughing. The trailer sold me the game at first glance, but after playing, I have mixed feelings about it. The setting is unique and the characters delightful, I particularly appreciated the actors' performance, cutscene animations, and references. It’s also unusual for me to find the notes engaging, but they succeeded in doing so. Unfortunately, gameplay wise it is really dull and at times confusing. And I get it, this is the first narrative-based game from the studio, low budget and it even fits the story, but still I wish they did better. If you decide to play, don't hesitate to google if you stuck, these "puzzles" don't worth your time. In short, while I might not suggest playing it yourself, I definitely think it’s worth purchasing to support the talent behind it. To save your time, you can enjoy the walkthrough movie on YouTube. I wish the developers all the best with Robots at Midnight, looking forward to playing it.

Maize is the corniest game I've ever played...in the best way possible! This game is a hilarious ride from start to finish. The puzzles are challenging but never frustrating, and the quirky characters and absurd humour kept me laughing the whole way through. If you're looking for a fun and light-hearted adventure, Maize is definitely worth a play. It is pretty short (~3 hours) so I can understand people being a little put off by the price honestly. I would have liked to have seen them put in the steam achievements (i understand there is achievements on console) for that extra serotonin boost.
