Ever wanted to be a wizard conducting groundbreaking magical research? This one has you covered. It's a unique mix of strategy and idle mechanics where you delve into the depths of arcane knowledge, unlocking new spells, researching powerful artifacts, and expanding your mystical abilities. The gameplay loop is surprisingly addictive, combining the satisfaction of incremental progress with the excitement of discovering new magical secrets. It’s a perfect fit for those who enjoy a blend of strategy, magic, and resource management. Great for short sessions or long, contemplative play.

This is a wonderful idle game, however the offline progression is a little less impressive than the online progression, making it a difficult choice for individuals who may lose interest in the game for a short while. I went through some of the essentially new game-plus mechanics, which were unnecessary and just served to increase playtime.

Numbers go up, but with magic. But really, it's a great idle with a mix of active and offline play, it starts slow and with few features but they get added as you progress in the game. You always learn things when you need to learn them, not before nor after. There is even a demo with a few quests and basic features, from which you can make a pretty good call on if you want to buy it or not. And yes the progress made on the demo will be there on the full game.

It's really good. I haven't played a lot of games from this genre, but here are the points I love the most about : - You don't have to stay on the same incarnation for days or weeks on end. One day is enough to make significant progress. - RNG is barely a factor in Magic Research. It's mostly about time progression. Later in the game, you even find something that helps you with the small RNG stuff, which is simply great. - There's a clear end to the story, as there are 99 stories to find/complete. - Each of these 99 will give you a good, sometimes absolutely amazing bonus for your next incarnation. - Talking about bonuses, the game isn't afraid to give great ones. Finding a new story is exciting because of the bonus that you'll get when completing it. - Nothing remains too tedious for too long. Whenever something starts to get a little tedious, you're usually close to getting a new bonus that'll make it much faster/easier too do. Important to note : This is not really an idle game. The main progression comes from the "exploration" system, where you'll fight monsters and try to get further and further until you reach the end, discovering new systems along the way. The fighting may look simplistic at first, but there's definitely a bit a strategy to it, and learning the moves of some of the later bosses to better prepare for them is crucial. This game ended up being much better than I could have anticipated. The progression is neither too fast, nor too slow, and it isn't RNG based. It feeld just right, which is amazing. Very easy to recommend.

Ever wanted to found hogwarts from the ground up, and do it your way? You can in this text based, story driven idle MMO with so many QOL comforts such as DARK MODE, the ability to choose where idle time stone bonuses get applied, rather than just a blanket idle offline progression system (which it also has, this is in addition to that system!) It has a prestige system too, so once you build your school well, you can try and get further in a second new game + sort of deal. Has an active task based system to guide you through the story and game which I love about this game. If you want an idler that is more sandboxy, is similar to this game, and has barely any hand holding, try Melvor Idle.
