You can definitely tell the creator played this game himself, because everything that could possibly annoy you about the incremental genre is either non-existent or solved with a NG+ bonus for completing a specific objective right around the time that it starts becoming a pain point. And to be clear, I would largely classify this as an "incremental" game over and "idle" game. You will generally be actively managing your resources and while there are a few times later in the game you might benefit from watching a show while waiting for the numbers to go up, these are surprisingly rare given the amount of content in the game. The game also features a pretty engaging story that makes it worth playing, and there is even guidance on how to trigger every event so you'll never feel like you're flailing around with no purpose. I don't think there was a single time I started a new game where I felt like I hadn't gained something from the previous playthrough, and oftentimes what I gained was quite good. If this genre of game appeals to you, I can't recommend it highly enough. If you aren't sure about the story or if it's worth playing, just try it out and see what you think. That's what I did, and I quickly found myself looking forward to the full game.

Really fun game! It pretends it's an idle game, but there's so much to keep yourself busy with for most of it (only maybe the middle of the game gets a bit slow, depending on how you play). I've beat it a couple times now in the 2 weeks since buying it, but there is still more to do. There are some cool secret mechanics you can stumble across that feel almost meta. Definitely worth the price. I also played the demo for several hours before purchasing, and never reached the end of the demo, so give that a shot if you're on the fence!

These days, it's really hard to find an idle game that has an ending, but MR2 achieves this in a good and reasonable way. You are not really idle as the game keeps you busy with many interesting mechanisms to "research" on your own and to boost different ways of gameplay. Out of many idle games that I've played, I highly recommend this one!

Take notes, dev. This is what an idle game should play like. Non-penalizing AFKing, multiple possible paths, RPG elements, some story to tie it all together. Very good idle game, thanks!

Maticolotto is a legend and has made a peak incremental/upgrade/idle game. He's taken everything from the genre and made it fun and interconnected in a way that most new idle games fail to do. He's remembered that while these games are inherently grindy, they must also be fun and keep you coming back for more. He's found the right balance.
