As someone who has been looking for games like The Room series for a good while now, this game has gotten the closest to the quality and feelings of those games so far! It's a more sci-fi themed game than the lovecraftian steampunk of Room games, but I am very much a fan of themes like that as well! I only got stuck once, and that was just me missing a clickable spot early on that I should have found way earlier lol. I enjoyed every level this game had to offer, and the ending was a lovely finale to everything that had been set up before it. Would deffo reccomend to puzzle game fans, especially fans of the Room-style games! ^w^

I enjoyed the puzzles and the really nice art work. None of the puzzles were 'hard', though one required a 'carry over' clue from an earlier chapter that made it more difficult (because I hadn't saved that clue....), but still it was easy enough. The whole game took me just under 7 hours so I was happy I got it on a big sale though I'm still going to wishlist the next version. Overall recommend if you like puzzles and sci-fi - and get it on sale if you can.

I enjoyed Machinka Museum. Only had to use a guide for two spots, the rest was all intuitive. A few issues though. The whole time I was thinking "this seems like it was made for a touch screen" and I think I was right. Using the mouse for movements that go a long way or are in a circle make the game freak out and you end up right back where you started so you need to do it bit by bit. I think they forgot about mouse users once they get to the end screen which says "New game in 2024" because I lost all movement and will have to force quit the game. I don't think the studio are primarily English speakers. Everything made sense, but sometimes the dialogue seemed stilted and looking at the Steam page for the next game I see a bit more of the same, but it's easily overlooked since the real meat is the puzzles which are fun. An issue with the main character I found was they didn't seem to understand the gravity of the situation. If I was about to strap myself into an alien rocketship I would have set up a camera, got some witnesses and a lawyer, brought some food, a cyanide tablet, see if I can't get some more of those magic rocks for power, maybe an astronaut suit or a snorkel at the least.. Stuff like that. They just strap themselves in and off they goes to Saturn's moons. They also just reassembles a machine for which the description is something along the lines of "Dr Brenner(?) was disfigured and some interns were also injured. To say nothing of their handling of a tube of radioactive something. Better hope that it was sealed tightly. I'm more of an inanimate carbon rod fan myself. There are lots of times where I would have thought that the protagonist should have been operating outdoors, behind some sort of explosive protection. It really would have helped when a shipping container burst open, sending the doors right into our face. In real life you would be dead. I wish they would have changed that to the protagonist hiding under their desk and closing their eyes or running outside of the room, and hearing a loud bang. In either case, when they return the game can play the same, but most people don't survive a metal door hitting them. These don't really stop my enjoyment of the game though. I do look forward to the sequel, although I'm not sure whether the freelook first-person they seem to be using for it will work out. I'm always worried when devs switch to it for the first time because they often forget things like POV and the ability to turn off mouse smoothing for example. The lack of those options normally mean I won't enjoy the game. That's more of a note for the developers if they ever read this though. As far as a player goes, I think even at the $11.50 full price you would get your money's worth of puzzles.

Love the premise. Game play is a bit like "The Room." The puzzles aren't too difficult but still fun to play. The only downside is when you try to do some things out of order, the game kind of glitches and you cannot move forward - you have to restart the chapter. Looking forward to the sequel.

I'd give this a 6/10. It wasn't clear when I bought it that this is just part 1. Not sure if/when part 2 will appear. It's very similar to the Room series, but not as good. If you liked Room, there's no reason you won't like this. Like the Room games, it's essentially just a series of puzzle boxes, with a somewhat weak story-line to stitch them together. There were a couple of points where I had to scratch my head for a few mins, but generally, the puzzles are relatively straightforward. Graphics are nice. It's also very short, so really only recommended if you get it on a good discount.
