Okay, played the tutorial, and one game that I lost, and I think I can give a basic review. It's a mixed bag, but over all, it's fun. It isn't as tower defense as I would have liked, in fact it is primarily a mining game, with some combat. On the downside, I find the UI very awkward, and there are only two types of things to mine really, lumen, a kind of gem, and metal. A wider variety of things to mine would have been nice. I also find the clipping to be very irritating, far too sensitive, especially when trying to place a build. If a building can go in a basic area, then let me build it, sometimes it was like those old frustrating point and click games where it had to be the exact pixel. Grrr.... And the auto save is quite intrusive and annoying. Load times in general seem quite long. Even after playing the tutorial, there seemed a lot of things to figure out. There is this strange beeping that I hear that goes faster and slower, no clue why. That said, lots of things to build, which is okay. I guess there are about twenty buildings? Give or take. Sadly only three kinds of defensive towers (not counting walls and gates) There is also an active community and fan-built modules. Always nice. A few things I would wish for, the ability to have the waves further apart for players who like to focus on the building for one. I think it has potential though, and will certainly play it some more. For now, one thumb up. ADDENDUM: Also crashed a bit. ADDENDUM: Gets kind of monotonous. The first mission, on easy, went at least fourteen waves, but after about nine I had no time to do anything but repair my base and wait for the next onslaught. Yawn.

Good game. Missions get a bit long near the end though. Not saying the long missions arent still fun. They are fun, it just means I have to split up a mission into multiple game sessions. This game has manual save and pausing so its easy to peel away and come back. I haven't experienced any bugs (other than the enemies) or crashes. Doesn't mean they aren't there, but could mean the problems are fixed or not that widespread.

Ignore all reviews that say the demo is better than the full game, its complete nonsense. The campaign gameplay is different to the demo gameplay, that is true. Just dont play the campaign, theres a very good random map generator that lets you play exactly what the demo showed off. You drop into a randomly generated map and instantly get to mining and progressing by advancing your base and research. It even lets you choose between different win conditions, with the default being surviving waves of enemies. You can choose the length, the difficulty and even pick win conditions like "killing a monster" and others. Endless mode is also a thing. Honestly i made the same mistake, i was put off by the campaign, which has a weird progression completely seperated from your mining. Play Random maps, you upgrade and research with the stuff you mine, the way this game was meant to be played, just like the demo. And a hint for controller players: Choose "relative WASD" movement in the options and activate the aim assist, you'll love it.

Fun top down tower defense mixed with mining and upgrading defenses. Smart, challenging and fun. Just the right amount of difficult but not easy either.
